\VILLIAM H. HAINES, OF NEWARK, NE JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A TABLE ENAMELED CLOTH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,533, dated October 18, 1881.
Application filed April 14, 1881. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. HAINES, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city ot'Newark, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Design for Table Enameled Uloth, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying drawing, forming a part of the same.
The figure is a perspective view, showing my newly-designed table enameled cloth, part of which is rolled up.
Heretofore a border has been used on stair enameled cloth; but in such cases the intermediate space has invariably been filled up with a general design extending from the her der at one edge of the cloth entirely across to the border at the other edge. This I do not claim.
The leading feature of my design consists in ornamenting the cloth by leaving unbroken bands of solid color between ornamented stripes extending lengthwise of the cloth, as shown in the annexed drawing. The lines of the pattern are disposed in parallel bands side by side, and are separated by blank spaces D, free from any figured pattern, so that solid bands of color appear. The border B is separated from the other stripcs,0.bya band,D,of solid color. The ground color is represented by the white surface of the paper, or the latter serves to indicate the solid color used for the bands 1) between the figured stripes G. The bands D, stripes U, and borders 13 extend in parallel lines the entire length of the piece of cloth.
I claim-- The design for table enameled cloth herein shown and described, the same consisting of figured stripes and borders B G, separated by bands D, of solid color, arranged in parallel lines lengthwise of the cloth.
In testimony whereof Ihave hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
W. H. HAINES.
Vitnesses:
Tnos. S. CRANE, WM. DIETZ.
