DESIGN FOR CLOCK-FRONTS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,181, dated May 6, 1879; application filed April 10, 1879.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY J. DAVIES, of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for the Fronts of Clocks, of which the following is a description, reference being bad to the accompanying photographic illustration, making part of this speci fication.
The general form of the clock-front is that of a horseshoe, A, arranged to occupy an erect position with its open end underinost, and containing within it the dial B of the clock, which forms a central figure within the closed end and sides'of the shoe. Said figure of he shoe is embellished by ornaments b, rep senting nail-heads.
Surrounding the shoe A is an ornament representing a horses head, (J. This ornament 0 on top of the clock-front is enriched or beantified by ornaments representing harness, including a saddle, 0, having attached stirrups d, a bridle, e, and a whip,j1
What I claim as my invention is- 1. The design for the front of a clock, comprising the figure of a horseshoe having contained within it the dial of the clock, substantially as herein described, and as illustrated in the accompanying photographic illustration.
2. The design for the front of a clock, comprising the figure of a horseshoe, A, having contained within it the dial B of the clock, and surmounted by the figure of a horses head, O, substantially as described, and as shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
3. The design on the top of the clock-front, comprising a horses head, and a saddle with stirrups, bridle, and whip, essentially as described, and illustrated in the accompanying photographic illustration.
