DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 10,752, dated July 9, 1878; application filed May 6,1878. [Term of patent 3?; years] To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN K. ROGERS, of Brookline, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a Design for a Font of Printing-Types, of which the following is a specification:

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying impression from the types, to which reference is made.

The face of the types is that of ordinary condensed Gothic, with the addition of a straight horizontal line a short distance above each letter, figure, and point, and a similar line a corresponding distance below said characters, these lines extending entirely across the face of the types.

The spaces or end and division types are of five forms of face. The first comprises a short vertical line, from the ends of which quadrant curved lines extend to the left and upward and downward. The second has a straight horizontal line attop and bottom, with blank space between. The third is the same as the first, save that the curved lines extend from the right side of the vertical line. The fourth is a long vertical line, joining a short horizontal line at the top to another at the bottom. The fifth is a short vertical line, joining the convex centers of two semicircular lines.

The outer ends of the curved lines extend into the planes of the horizontal lines on the faces of the other types of the font when set up in a line therewith.

What I claim is- The design for a font of printing-types, as shown and described.
