Description

I. 'W. HEYSING-ER. Fountain-Pen Case.
No.10,653. Patented April 30,1878.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ISAAC W. IIEYSINGER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR FOUNTAIN-PEN CASES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,653, dated April 30, 1878; application filed February 26, 1878.
[Term of patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC W. Hnrsnvcnn, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for Pocket-Case for Mucilage-I-Iolders, Fountain-Pens, 850., of which the following is a specification The object of my invention is to produce a pocket-case for inucilage holders, fountainpens, marking-brushes, &c., of a form more handsome in appearance than those hitherto made.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.
The internal case or handle for the mucilage or ink reservoir proper consists of a cylindrical tube, A, open at one end, A, and permanently closed at the other, A In the side of the handle A, and near the open end thereof, a slot or opening, A is made.
The tubular cover B, which forms a part of the design, is somewhat similar in general form to the inner case A, except that it is unprovided with a slot in its side corresponding to the opening A, Figs. 2 and 4. It is slightly larger than A, so as to enable it to be passed over the same from either end, as is clearly shown in Fig. 4. It is closed at B and open at its opposite end, B, as is shown in the figures, and is made to resemble in so much the twin case A.
I prefer making the closed ends A B slightly rounded, and ornamenting the sides with knurls A B or other symmetrical figures; but these constitute no essential part of my invention, which relates exclusively to the general form of the parts.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A design for a pocket pen-case, consisting of the twin parts A and B, provided with knurls A. and B, as shown.
2. A design for case A, having open end A and closed rounded end A knurl A, and slot A as shown.
3. A design for case B, having open end B, and closed rounded end B and knurl B as shown.
ISAAC W. HEYSINGER.
