In practical operation, a qfiantit-y. of canes or umbrellas may be nrcfiiited inthe-compartments 26, and it may beuioted-thatthe holders 29 constitute partial closures for the compartments, so that the articles therein i may not readily be displaced. The canes 01'; umbrellas which areto be displayed most prominently, are engaged at their upper ends by the clips 3.0, their lower ends being mounted in the openings 42 in thebottom -21. The umbrellas or canes which are thus 05 held,- may readily be-observed through the transparent plates- 10 of tieca'se 5, and by rotat-ingthe-case5, any one of themovable closures 8 may be positloned opposite any one of the holders 29, so that a given 'um- 1'10 brella or cane may'readily be. removed. the. same process, access may be had to the articles which are stored in the compart-' .ments' 26. As one umbrella after another is,

examined by the purchaser, the umbrella may be rested uponthefloor, and against the case 5, the umbrella being prevented from'falling over, by the arms 32 which outstand beyond the case 5.
