PACKAGE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 16, 1911.
Application filed August 7, 1907. Serial No. 387,498.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDRA GRAFIN VON DYHRN, a subject of the King of Prussia and German Emperor, residing at Kaiser Wilhelmstrasse, Breslau, in the Province of Silesia and Empire of Germany, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Packages, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention refers to an improvement in packages, and consists in inserting between two post cards small plates suitably wrapped up, and consisting of a thin piece of material such as chocolate chips, wafers or similar confectionery.
In the accompanying drawing such a package is illustrated.
Figure 1 is a sectional view of applicants improved package. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the package with parts broken away to show the Wrapper.
In the drawing the cards a and b may consist of two post cards, one of which has one side arranged for the address, and on the other there may be a view of a monument, a renowned person or the like. The two cards are joined by a fold 01. Between the cards, there is inserted a thin piece 0 of chocolate, a wafer, or similar confectionery, suitably inclosed in a wrapper e.
The cards a and b are secured by an adhesive substance or paste to the wrapper e.
It will be noted that the fold d gives the completed package the appearance of a book.
Claim.
A package consisting of a thin layer of confection provided with a protecting wrapper entirely surrounding the same, a post card, having an address side secured by an adhesive at one side of said layer to the wrapper thereof, a card having a View thereon secured by an adhesive at the other side of said layer to the said wrapper, said cards being arranged in such a manner that the view and the address side shall be on the surface of the package, said cards being connected by a fold of material at one side of said package along their longitudinal adjacent edges whereby the package is given the appearance of a book.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
