petroleum, chalk and benzin are then mixed and this mixture added to the mixture obtained by commingling the first and second groups of ingredients. After thoroughly mixing all of the above ingredients together the mass is then molded into blocks or cakes 1 of suitable size.
By the use of the above ingredients a fire can be easily and quickly started by simply placing one of the cakes or blocks among the kindling wood or coals to be burned.
Whotft claim is l. The herein described composition of matter, consisting of petroleum, chalk, caustic nitrate, rosin, stearin, water, benzin and alcohol, substantially as described and for the purpose specified.
2. The herein described composition of matter for starting fires, consisting of petroleum sixty-five parts, chalk twenty parts, caustic nitrate ten parts, rosin four parts,
stearin eight parts, water three parts, benzin twenty-five parts and alcohol ten parts.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
