Description

Patented Mar. 31, 1925.
UNITED STATES JAKOIB STRIGENZ, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
FUEL.
No Drawing. Application filed September To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAKOB STRIGENZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, county of Milwaukee, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a New Fuel, of Which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and novel compound for making a new fuel.
The object of my invention is to produce and manufacture a fuel which is cheaper and more eflicient than the ordinary fuel on the market at the present time.
A further object of 'my invention is to produce and manufacture a fuel which can be made in any shape or form desired, so as to fit any shape fire-pot and also to press same so as to take up a minimum amount of space.
Other and further objects and advantages will appear from the more detailed description set forth below; but it will be understood that this detailed description is given by way of illustration and not by way of limitation, since various changes may be made therein by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention herein disclosed.
I found that in its preferred form best results are obtained from my fuel when it is composed of the following elements or their equivalents, in the following proportions, to wit :three pounds of sawdust, five and one-half pounds of hardco-al, two pounds of charcoal, one-quarter pound of sulphur, ground fire brick, one half pound of cement, one-quarter pound tar dry, one pound of sand, one-half pound of coarse salt, onequarter quart of signal oil, two and onequarter quarts of kerosene and one quart of benzene.
The mixing of this composition is as follows :I first grind the hardcoal, and charcoal ground fire brick so that same becomes a powder after which I place this powder into a metal container and add the sawdust, sulphur, cement, signal oil, kerosene, benzene, dry tar, sand and rock salt and tho-roughly mix same, after which I place 19, 1923. Serial No. 663,703.
said mixture in a. mold or form and press the said mixture into any shape that may be desired, other proportions than those set forth may be used although the example set forth above has given the best results.
After the above ingredients have been thoroughly mixed and pressed in a form they are ready to be used. In using this fuel I take a small cake and place same on the grate in the fire-box and light same in the ordinary way and regulate the drafts according to the amount of heat desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. The herein described composition for a new fuel which consists of sawdust, hard coal, charcoal, sulphur, ground fire brick, cement, signal oil, kerosene, benzene, dry tar, sand and coarse salt.
2. The herein described composition for a new fuel which consists of sawdust, hardcoal, sulphur, charcoal, ground fire stone, cement, signal oil, kerosene, benzene, dry tar, sand and coarse salt, the above being thoroughly mixed and then pressed into shape after which the said bricks or cakes are ready to be used.
3. The herein described compound for a new fuel which consists in substantially the following proportions of the following elements to each cake or brick containing two hundred cubic inches, namely, three pounds of sawdust, five. and one-half pounds of hardooal, two pounds of charcoal, one-quarter pound of sulphur, two pounds of ground fire brick, one-half pound of cement, one pound of sand, one-quarter pound of dry tar, one-half pound coarse salt, one-quarter quart of signal oil, two and one-quarter quarts of kerosene and one quart of benzene.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses at 114 Grand Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
