The object of my invention is a multiple needle holder for electrolysis which" shall have greater Hexibility as a whole and in its separate arms than the one afore mentioned.

Referring to the drawings, l indicates the base or support of the device which is preferably stamped out of sheet metal and then bent into the form shown in the drawings. As shown it comprises a plate portion, 2 a pair of forwardly extending arms, 33 and an upper vertical arm, 4E. The plate, 2 is riveted-or otherwise secured to 4a steel plate 5, as by the rivets, 5. rllhe upper portion of the plate 2 is slightly offset asA at 2 leaving a narrow space or recess 2 between the oifset portion and the plate, 5 for a purpose hereinafter described. Instead of forming the arm, base, 1, l may form it separately and connect it to the plate, 5 as shown in Fig. 5. The'arrm 4 is provided with a socket for an electrical plug, 8 a'nd the end of the arms, 3, are connected by a bolt, 9 whichconstitutes the pivot for the needle supporting arms. n The plug, 8 is insulated from the arm, 4, and is provided with a main line wire, 11 and the separate insulated wires'12 leading to the several needles. The arms are each formed of a plurality of sections connected by universal joints and are preferably pivotally connected to the support, 1. As shown in the drawings, each arm comprises three sections, a first section, 13 an intermediate section, 14 and an end clamping section, 15 which holds the needle.- The rst section is preferably formed of sheet metal stamped and bent into the form shown and comprises the main or body portions, 13 which is turned at lright angles thereto. The socket member hereinbefore mentioned is formed upon the end, 13. of the arm and is flared in alinement with said portion and hence, at right angles to the body portion of the arm. The socket comprises the rings, 19 and. 19 formed upon the end of the arms and a clamp member, 21 respectively,

It is obvious that with this construction the cent-ral portion, 14 will have maximum lateral movement when the portions 13 and 14 are at substantially right which is the position they assume when in use. The middle section, 14 of each arm comprises a tubular member equipped with a ball at each end,

In order to better position the needle, at times, I provide a joint in the lower ory end section, `15 and to this end construct the same as follows :-25 25 indicate a pair of plates each having a ring, 26 which rings are outwardly flared forming a socket for the ball, 24. Instead of jointing the vlower section in the manner just described, the needle holdery may be swiveled to the end of the section and in Figs. 5' and 6 I have illustrated an.

In this form'the lower section, 15 is formed of a pair of plates, 50-50, each plate having a ring, 51-51, 52--52 at each end, the former forming the socket for the ball, 24 of the intermediate section and the latter forming a socket for a ball, 53 formed on or secured to the needle holder. The plates 50-50 are held apart by the stud,'54 and are clamped upon the balls, 24 and 53 by the bolts, 55 and 56 respectively The needle holder is secured in a clamp, 57 secured to the ball 53LV It is frequently advantageous to provide a support for the device instead of attaching it to the patient, and to this end I provide means for attaching it to the arm or back of a chair. .In Fig. 7 I illustrate a devicesuch as I find convenient for attaching the needle holder to the back of a chair whenoperating upon the face. This comprises a clamp 35 adapted to be secured to thejback, 36 of .a chair and a bracket 37 extending upwardly rom said clamp and bent forwardly as at 38 to extend over the head of the patient, portion, 39 having a plate, 40 secured thereto. Upon the plate, 40 are a pair of bolts, 4l which extend through holes 5 in the plate, 5. The boltsare equipped with butterly nuts or thumb nuts, 42 for securing the device thereto.

In a device of the class described, a suitable base in combination with an arm pivotally connected thereto, said arm being formed of three sections, the end section comprising a pair of plates rigidly spaced apart at one end and having a two part' clamp formedA at the other end for holding the end of the adjacent section between them, a. bolt connecting said plates intermediate of their ends, a second pair of plates pivotally connected to the ends of the rst said plate and having their ends formed into a socket to receive the needle holder and means for clamping said plates on the holder,l substantially as described.
