DOOR-HOLDING MEANS.
Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ANDREW L. BELL and FREDERICK J EBERT, citizens of the United States, residing at Braddock, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsyl- Vania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Holding Means, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to door holding means and it has for its principal object to provide a device by means of which a spring door maybe held tightly closed.
The device is especially adapted for use in connection with screen doors, which are very easily sprung out of plumb in which case their usefulness is impaired.
In the accompanying drawings we have illustrated our device and, Figure 1 is a sectional view taken through a door and frame, showing a top plan view of the application of our invention, Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the two members of our device, Fig. 3 is a top plan view similar to Fig. 1 showing the members separated.
Like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the several views of the drawings and in the specification, in which 1 indicates a door casing, 2 a screen door frame. To the door casing is secured a bracket 3, which holds a spring clip member 4, having two arms 5 and 6, which have heads 7 and 8 on the free ends thereof. These heads are slightly separated in order to guide the arrow shaped head 9 therebelow.
Secured to the door frame in a position to aline with the spring clip member when the door is closed, is a member 10 provided with a neck 11, having a head 9 on the end thereof. The head is enlarged at either side as indicated by the numerals 12 and 12. From this enlarged portion the head inclines toward the neck as shown at 13 and 13, so that the corners 14 and 14: of the heads 7 and 8 will be caused to press thereagainst by the spring arms which tend to draw the head 9 in as far as possible, thereby drawing the spring part of the door into proper position.
WVe claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent In combination with a door and door casing, an open ring held apart from said casing by a connecting member, heads on the opposing ends of said ring, said heads having inclined faces, a wedge member having a stem secured to said door, said wedge having shoulders adapted to en age the heads on said open ring to hold said wedge member to said ring.
