To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MONROE ENGELSMAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, city ot' New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Stands, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a display st-and, for exhibiting rings and the like. Its organization comprises a column adjustably mounted in a frame, and on which are adjustably secured clamping hooks for holding rings or other objects to be displayed.
In the drawings Figure 1 represents a front elevation of the invention with the frame thereof partly broken away. Fig. 2 shows a left-hand side View of a portion of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows a partial side view and section of Fig. 1 on the line 3. 3, with the column in a tilted position. Fig. 4 represents an enlarged end view of some of the details of Fig. 3. Fig. 5 shows an enlarged section of Fig. 1 on the line 5. 5. Fig. 6 shows an enlarged section of Fig. 1 on the line 6. 6. Fig. 7 shows the column attached to a permanent support, and Fig. 8 is an end view of Fig. 7.
The invent-ion is shown to comprise a frame, 20, in which are formed openings Jfor bolts, 21. The bolts 21 have the nuts 22 at their lower ends, and at their upper ends are located heads 23 that have slots for the columns 24T-25, one of the columns 24 not being shown. The heads 23 of the bolts 21 hold caps 26 in place on the frame. The said columns are adjustably secured in the slots of the heads 23 by means ofthe clamping bolts 27.
On the column 24 are supported clamps which each comprise the sleeve 30 with the handle 31 perpendicular to the face of the said column, and have the clamping jaw 32.
On the column 25 are supported clamps which each comprise the sleeve 35 with the handle 36 parallel to the face of the said cglumn 25 and the pair of clamping jaws, 3 38.
The top ends of each of the columns, 24--25, are formed with a pair of prongs 40 and a third prong 41 at right angles thereto for holding a price card 42.
The jaws 32, 37 and 38 of the clamps normallyV bear against the columns 24-25, and thereby hold in position the objects, likeethe rings -46 that bear between the said jaws and the said columns. The handles 31-36 serve to move the clamps up and down on the columns, and the clamping bolts 27 allow the tilting of the columns to various angles.
In Figs. 7 and 8 the column 24 has been represented as secured to a permanent support 50, which latter may be a portion of a tool used for other purposes.
Having described my invention I claim:
In a display stand the combination of a frame, a bolt su ported in the frame, a head on the bolt having a slot, a column in the slot, a clamping bolt to secure the column in the slot in different angular positions, sleeves on the column, a clamping jaw extending from each sleeve to support an object between the clamping jaw and the column.
