To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that l, DANIEL PAY'roN, a citizen of the United States of AXinerica, residing in the city of St. vLouis and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tobacco-lipes. ot which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being` had to the accompanying drawings, Yforming part of this specification.

My invention relates to a tobacco pipe that is so constructed to provide for the collection ot saliva that may enter into thepipe throughthe stein from the inouth of the smoker, and the deposit of this saliva in a receptacle provided therefor in such nianner as to prevent the entrance of the saliva into the bowl otf the pipe, and with the result that the contents of the howl are always retained in a perfectly dry condition.

The saliva duct is tapering, being-Wider at its ripper or inlet end that communicates with the chainoer it than througrhfmt the remainder ot its length in order that saliva may enter freeiy thoreinto from said chamber.

I claim:

A. tobacco pipe comprising a bowl having a nook formed with a depending extension, with an outwardly Haring chamber, with an upper sn'iolre duct extending downwardly` from the outwardly flaring chamber and upwardly into the bowl chamber, and with a lower outwardly flaring Saliva duct extendingx downwardly from the outwardly iai'- ing chamber into the depending extension, a cup detaoliably secured 'ro the depending extension, and a pipe-stein having a duct therethrough formed with an inwardly dan ing inner ond Connected willi 'the outwardly flaring chamber.
