To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, NEUMAN M. DEAL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment Stretchers and Presser-s, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to combined garment stretchers and pressers. Its object is to afford a simple, convenient, practical, foldable, adjustable, always ready device of this class that is cheap to manufacture and on which a plurality of garments can be stretched and pressed at one and the same time.

With the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described in the following specification, pointed out in the claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings which form a part of said specification and in which- Figure l is a front elevation of the device in the operation of stretching and pressing a pair of trousers. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 is a sectional detail on line 33 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a front elevation of the device. Fig. 5 is a view of the same folded. Fig. 6 is a front elevation showing coat and trousers arranged on the device. Fig. 7 is a detail of clasp employed. Fig. 8 is a section on line 88 of Fig. 1.

Like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

2 is a shoulder support made preferably of a single piece of wire or other suitable material bent at either extremity to form eyelets 3 and 4 and midway between its extremities to form an eyelet 5 and shaped something like a quadrant.

6 and 7 are loop-like supports slidably arranged on support 2 and secured to one extremity of trousers supports 8, 9 and 10, 11 respectively.

One side of the trousers support comprises a pair of pivoted members 8 and 9 and the other side comprises a pair of similar members 10 and 11, either member comprising two sections pivoted together as at 12 so that the free section may be rotated upon its pivot until it rests upon its companion section. The members 8 and 9 are secured upon the same pivot 13 in loop-like support 6 and lie one upon the other but the pivot 13 is of sufficient length to permit the insertion of a pair of trousers legs between said members as shown in detail Fig. 3.

- The construction and arrangement of members 10 and 11 are similar to that of 8 and 9 and they ride upon a pivot 17.

14 is a clasp designed to hold the co-acting members 8 and 9 as well as co-acting members l0 and 11 together as illustrated in Figs. 1, 2, and 3 and is secured upon a pivot to one of the trousers pressing members.

15 is a chain having its extremities secured to the pivot of either clasp 1st located near the pivoted end of one of the trousers pressing members and passing up from said pivot through the eyelets in the extremities of the shoulder member 2 and thence through the central eyelet 5 and through an eyelet 16 by which the device is secured to the wall or other surface from which it may be suspended. The difi'erent widths of coat or trousers are accommodated in the stretcher by adjusting the position of the loop-like supports 6 and 7 upon the shoulder support. The extremities of chain 15 which are secured to the top clasp pivots exert a stretching tendency upon the trousers and the several clasps 14 creasethem.

A coat is hung upon the device as illus trated in Fig. 6 by passing the shoulder support under the shoulder of the coat.

The device may be folded by rotating the lower section of either trousers supporting member upon its pivot until it lies upon the upper section of the same and then rotating.

What I claim is- 1. A garment presser and stretcher comprising in combination, a shoulder member provided with terminal eyelets and a central eyelet, depending sectional pressing and stretching members pivoted together in pairs slidably arranged on said shoulder member, clasps 14 suitably arranged off said pressing and stretching members and a chain having one extremity secured to a member of either pair of the last named members and passing through the eyelets of the shoulder member and adapted to engage any suitable hook to support the device as shown.
