\VINDOW-SHADE AND CURTAIN-POLE FIXTURE.
This invention relates to a Window shade and curtain fixture and its object is to provide such a device having a pole supporting arm, a brace arm and a web connecting said arms formed to support a shade roller, all of said parts being formed from a single piece of sheet metal, all as hereinafter more fully described reference being had to the accompanying drawings in which,

As shown in Fig. 3, a sheet of metal is stamped out with a long straight arm 1 at one side projecting laterally from a connecting or body portion 2 which has an integral laterally projecting arm 3 at its other side of lesser length than the arm 1. The blank is also formed with ear portions 1 projecting laterally from the body portion in. a direction opposite that of the arms 1 and 3 and in line therewith. The blank in being formed up is bent on the line 5 to bring the face of the arm 1 at rightangles to the body portion 2 and the blank is similarly bent on the line 6 to bring the face of the arm 3 at right angles to the face of the body. The arm 1 is then curved upwardly to meet the downwardly curting arm 3 which is secured at its end to the arm 1 by any suitable means such as a rivet 7 or by providing a tongue 8 on the end of the arm 3 to engage a hole 9 in the arm 1. The arm 1 after meeting the upper arm is curved downwardly thence upwardly, to form a hook 10 to receive and support a curtain pole, the end of the arm 11 when blanked out being cut in a manner Specification of Letters Patent.

The cars 4: are bent on the lines 12 to a position at right angles to the upper and lower faces of the arms 3 and 1 and form means for attaching the fixture or bracket to awindow casing, said ears when blanked out being formed with holes to receive nails or screws. An opening 13 is preferably cut in the blank on the line 6 so that the metal may be easily folded. When the arms are bent up and secured together the body portion 2 of the blank forms a. web connecting the arms and making a rigid bracket and this web is preferably formed with a straight rear edge 14 and a curved forward edge 15 to give a better ornamental appearance and lighten the structure. The blank is also formed with a slot 16 crossing the folding line 6 which slot when the bracket is formed up provides an opening to receive the squared end of the shaft of a curtain roll. The blank for the bracket for supporting the o posite end of the curtain roll, or the right hand bracket will be provided with a hole 17 in place of the slot to receive the round end of the shaft. Preferably, when the blank is formed up. the metal of the web or body portion 2 will be pressed outward forming a slight protuberance 18 at the end of the slot 16 in one blank and surrounding the hole 17 in the other blank. These projections are formed to engage the ends of the curtain roll and space the same slightly from the face of the web so that the roll will run freely.
By forming the device in the manner described from a single blank of sheet metal, a very cheap device is secured which is strong and rigid and presents an attractive appearance.
