Be it known that I, EDWARD L. CHOTT, citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dental Breach-.I-Iolders, of which thc following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in cases for containing dental breaches, hypodermic needles, or other instruments requiring protection against moisture, dust, handling, etc.

The object of my invention is to provide a case of the character described which shall be designed and constructed to give thorough protection to dental broaches or other like instruments contained therein, and a case which shall be inexpensive of manufacture and efficient in use.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

With these objects in view my invention consists in the novel construction and arrangement ef parts which will be hereinafter fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

My invention will be more readily understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which,

Referring new to the drawings 1 designates a rectangular cardboard body member and 2 a similarly shaped cardboard cover adapted to fold on said body member by means of the flexible pad of blotting paper 3 which is pasted to said body member and cover as shown in Fig. 2. In the blotting paper 3 a series of longitudinal grooves 4 are formed for the reception of the breaches 4, and to which paper a thin transverse strip of paper 5 is pasted for holding the broaches in position, said strip bridging over the grooves as shown in Fig. 6. The blotting paper 3 is treated with paraffin to render the same moisture-proof, this a broaches being essential since all except the handle are held in the grooves and need protection. The portion of the pad 3 which is pasted to the cover 2 covers the broaches in the grooves 4 when the case is folded, which feature will be clear by reference to Fig. l. Te prevent the broaches 4 from falling out after the same are inserted in the grooves, as shown in Fig. 4, a bleek G is pasted to the covers 2 which forms a stop for the handles 4H of the breaches when the case is folded. The case is completed by pasting a label 7 to the body member l and cover 2, an extension 8 being formed in said label which is adapted to inclose an end of said member and cover and to be pasted to the latter for sealing the case as it appears in Fig. 1.

It will be noted that only two breaches are shown in Fig. 4, but it is clear that each groove is adapted to contain an individual breach.

IVhile I have shown what I deem to be the preferable ferm of my improved dental breach case I de ,not wish to be limited thereto as there might be various changes made in the details of construction and arrangement of parts described, and hence I desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as fairly fall within the spirit and scope ofthe appended claims.

I-Iaving described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

l. A dental breach case in book form coinprising a folded cover, a pad consisting of a strip of absorbent material secured in said cover on each side of the fold, the said pad strip being shorter than said cover and one portion of said pad being recessed for the reception of broaches, and a stop block secured te the outer edge of the cover portion opposite to said recessed pad, substantially as described.

2. A dental breach case in boek form comprising a folded cover, a pad consisting of a strip of blotting paper secured in said cover on each side of the fold, the said pad strip being shorter than said cover and one portion of said pad being recessed for the reception of broaches, and a stop block se cured to the outer edge of the cover portion opposite to said recessed pad, substantially as described.

In a dental breach case, a rectangular a body member and `to fold thereon `by means of a flexible body member and a rectangular cover adapted to fold thereon by means of a flexible blotting paper pad pasted to said member and cover, the portion of said pad which isr pasted to said member being provided With longitudinal grooves for the of broaches, Ya'thin strip of paper pasted to said portion in such a manner as to bridge over said grooves, the length of said portion being less than said member, a block pasted to the end of said cover forming a stop for the handles of said broaches, and means for sealing the oase, substantially as described.
