Hitherto the covers for horses have been provided with non-elastic straps, but these do not allow a free movement ofthe animals head, and at thesame time secure the desideratuln of a close-fitting cover, or one that will constantly maintain its proper position with? out hanging over too much o'n one side or the other at the ends, as well as presenting a somewhat inelegant appearance by reason of the slack or fullness it'4 is in thatcase necessary to give said cover.
