To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN W. Born, a citizen of the United States, residing at Misha county of St. Joseph and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ladder-Brackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to ladder brackets. ()ne object of the invention is to provide a ladder bracket embodying such characteristics that it may be secured to a ladder so as to suspend paint or other buckets from the ladder in a position convenient to a painter or other worker in his position upon a ladder. Another object of the invention resides in the provision of an exceedingly simple, inexpensive, durable and'efiicient bracket, designed for association with a ladder to support paint or other buckets accessible to a erson standing on the ladder.

Referring'now more particularly to the accompanying drawings, there is shown a ladder 5 embod in the usual uprights (i and 7 and the rounds 8.

10 and 11, the-arms 10 having afinger 12 at its outer end which is substantially semi-circular and which is adapted to engage the lower sur: face of the corresponding round 8, said arm 10 having another like finger 13 adapted to embrace the upper surface of the corresponding round 8, whereby the

12 and 13 embrace the same round against which the arm 10 is disposed, and serve to support the bracket on the round 8 against tilting action incident to the welght of the bucket 14 susl pended from the hook 15 at the outer extremity of the arm 11. The outer arm 11 is provided with a plurality of notches 16 at its upper edge adapted to receive the bail 17 of a second bucket 18, if it be desired to support or suspend a second bucket from the bracket.

The inner end of the arm 11 is so disposed with relation to the body portion 9 that it may rest directly against the corresponding companying drawings, is designated by the numeral 7. This engagement of the arm 11 with the upright 7 further aids in supporting the bracket upon the ladder, and also prevents the bracket from turning on the ladder round.

My bracket is of such peculiar form thatit may be so disposed with respect to the ladder that a person may go up .or down the latter without paying any attentionwhatever to the bracket as far as his head or shoulders coming into contact with it is concerned. A person may even ste upon the fingers of the bracket and not dislodge it. A paint bucket, for instance, may be disposed on a line with the painters bodya shoulders or in any other convenient position. It is not necessary in the use of my bracket for the painter to have to reach above his, head or below his feet or through the rounds of the ladder to gain access to the bucket.

What is claimed is LA ladder bracket comprising a body portion, an arm extending from one end of the body portion and at an angle thereto, fingers carried by said arm for engaging the round of the ladder, said fingers constructed and arranged to hold the arms contiguous with and parallel to said round, and a second arm extending from the other end of the body portion, said second arm adapted to engage one of the uprights of the ladder and extend laterally beyond the uprights.

A ladder bracket comprising a body portion, an arm extending from one end of the body portion and at an angle thereto, fingers carried by said arm for engaging the round of the ladder, said'fingers constructed and arranged to hold the arms contiguous with and parallel to said round, a second arm extending from the other end of the body pqrtiom'said second arm adapted to engage one of the uprights of the ladder and upright, which upright, as shown in the acextend laterally beyond the uprights, the upper edge of the second arm having a notch, and a hook provided at the outer end of the second arm.

A ladder bracket comprising a body portion, an arm extending from one end of the body portion and'at an angle thereto, fingers carried by said arm to engage the round of the ladder, said armhaving a curved finger at itsfree end and an oppo' sitely disposed finger at its inner end, said fingers being constructed and arranged to hold the arm contiguous with and parallel to said round,-and a second arm extending from the other end of the body portion,

said second arm adapted to engage one of the uprights of the ladder and extend laterally beyond the uprights. v

A ladder bracket comprising a body portion, an arm extending from one end of the body portion and at an angle thereto, fingers carried by said arm to engage the round ,of the ladder, said arm having a curved fingerat its free end and an oppositely disposed finger at its inner end, said fingers being constructed and arranged to hold the arm contiguous with and parallel to said round, and a second arm extending from the other end of the body portion, said second arnradapted to engage one of theup'rights of the ladder and extend laterally beyond the uprights, the. second arm having a hook at its outer end.

A ladder bracket comprising a body portion, an arm extending from one end of the body portion and at an angle thereto, means carried. by said arm for engaging the round of the ladder, said means constructed and arranged to hold the arm contiguous with and parallel to the said round, and a second arm extending from the other end of the body portion, said second arm adapted to engage one of the uprights of the ladder round of the ladder, said arm having a curved finger at its free end and an oppositely disposed finger at its inner end, said fingers being constructed and arranged to hold the arm contiguous with and parallel to said round, and a second arm extending from the otherend of-th'e body portion, said second arm adapted to engage one of the uprights ofathe ladder and extend laterally beyond the uprights, the second arm having a notch. in its upper edge and at its outer end having a depending hook.
