CLAW BAR.
APPLIGATION FILED MAY 14, 1903.

A attain;
A A ED vi CLAW-BAR.
To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, WESTLEY WADDELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Eagle Grove, in the county of \Vright and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Claw-Bars, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in claw bars, and the object is to provide a bar having two claws thereon whereby nails can be pulled.
Another object is to provide a fulcrum on the bar by which the bar can be used for tearing up floors and the like.
The invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations of parts which will behereinafter described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective view and Fig. 2 is an end View.
A represents the claw bar, which is provided with claws 1, 1, which extend in o posite directions from each other and ma e of a single piece of material. Secured to the sides of the bar are arms 2, 2, which extend at right angles from the bar. The ends of the arms are preferably flared outward as at 3 to give greater bearing surface when usedas a fulcrum in prying up boards or any object to be raised. The outer end of the bar is preferably curved as at 4 whereby Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 1910.
Application filed May 14, 1908. Serial No. 432,858.
it may be used fornprying purposes to loosen flooring or the like.
By my improved bar I am enabled to draw nails and use the claw ends for prying boards, tearing up floors and for like puroses, by using the projections or arms 2 as fulcrums. 1
It is evident that sli ht changes might be made in the form anf several parts described without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, and hence I do not wish to limit myself to the exact construction herein set forth, but:
Having fully described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A claw-bar made in one integral piece of arrangement of the metal, at one end of which are formed curved oppositely disposed claws, and at right; angles to .which it is provided with oppositely disposed arms, the extreme ends of wh ch are flared outward to afford greater bear ng surface when used as a fulcrum in prying loose boards or other objects to be reused, said oppositely disposed arms being fiat and located in a plane at right angles to the length of the ban In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses. WESTLEY WADDELL.
