Be it known that I, CHARLES A. Boiconsox, a citizen ofthe United States, and :i resident of San Francisco, 'in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented a new and Improved Sprinkler, 'of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to a new and improved device for sprinklingl lawns` tlower gardens, or the like, which is adapted to distribute an even shower of water Aas lif'htly as the rain, covering every patch ci the ground surrounding the device within cer tain liinits, varying?Y according to the water pressure.

The operation of the device wil be readil understood when taken in connection wit 11o" the abovede:"ription. The sprinkler is com nected bylmeans of a hose coupling 5, to any suitable length 'of hose, which in turn is connected to a suitable supply of water under a head. The water entering under a head in the pipe llis directed tangentially in the passage T, Where it, has imparted to it a circular motion, which motion it retains on entering the chamber` 8. The stream oi water circulated at av considerable speed comes to the outlet 10,1yl1ere it is delie'eted along the diverging sides of the outlet mouth formed by -the funnel 9, so lila( it is broken up into a fine spray, which is distributed evenly on all sides of the sprinkler, and over a radius depending-on the pressure of ib'e water.
It will thus be seen that there 1s provlded a, sim le. and efficient s rinklin'el device`4 whielnnnlike the ordinary screen sprinklers1 will not clog up. as the ouelt opening l0 is oi' suiiieient size to permit almost any particles which may enter tlie'deviec to pass out durin the sprinkling:r operation.
