My invention relates especially to paper feeding Vmechanism for typewriting inacliines and its general object is to provide improved devices of the class stated.
, More specifically my invention 1s con- 'cerucil with tally strip mechanism of thaty kind 'wherein the tally strip is adapted to be fed intermittently around the platen by tally feeding devices whichcoperate with the platen for the purpose. ln this kind of .tally strip mechanism it is highly desirable to condense the totals on the tall).v strip and to that end the tally strip shonld'he fed only at intervals 'following the writing of the totals on the severalhills and the reproduction of such totals on the tally strip, said tall v strip remaining unaffected during the other line space advances of the hillslt is the chief purpose of my invent-ion to insure that the tally strips'are to he fed intermittently in the way stated by providing safeguards against carelessness or inat- 'tention on the part of the operator.
