Mmmmnmm Hummm IINITEI) STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CORNELIUS B. OBLENESS, OF COLUMBUS, OHIO.
IRONING-BOARD.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CORNELIUS B. OBLE- Ness, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ironing Boards, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to ironing boards and more particularly to combined ironing` and bosom boards, the object being to provide a pair of boards so connected that each one of the boards can be used as desired, and one in which the board not in use serves as a base to support the board being used.
Another object of my invention is to connect the boards so that they can be readily detached so that they can be put into as small place.
IVith these objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features of construction, hereinafter fully described and pointed out in the claim.
In the drawings forming a part of this specicationz-Figure l is a perspective view of my improved ironing board. Fig. 1an is a perspective view of the bosom board detached. Fig. 2 is a side view of my improved board partly broken away. Fig. 3 is a perspective View of the supporting member. F ig. 4 is a perspective view of the bosom board detached. verted perspective view of the ironing board.
Referring to the drawing A indicates an Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed November 9, 1909.
Patented Aug. 30, 1910. serial No. 527,033.
ironing board, provided with guide brackets A', in which the foot B', of the standard B is adapted to fit. The standard is provided with a cross-arm B2, at its upper end which is adapted to lit in the guide bracket C, of the bosom board C, and securely support the same. The end of the arm B2, projects out beyond the end of the board and can be used for an iron support when desired.
From the foregoing description it will be readily seen that I have provided a very novel ironing board which can be easily and quickly put together and one which can be readily reversed so that either of the boards can be used desired.
Having thus `fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is As a new article of manufacture an ironing board comprising a standard provided with a foot piece at its lower end and a cross bar at its upper end and ironing boards provided with guide brackets adapted to re ceive said foot piece and one arm of said cross bar for holding said boards spaced apart in an operative position, the other arm of said cross bar projecting outwardly beyond the end of said board forming an iron support.
CORNELIUS B. OBLENESS.
