Be it known that I, ANTON J. KRnMLAonx, a citizen of the United States, residing at Howells, in the county of Colfax and State of Nebraska, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Truss-Rods for Bugg Tongue Circles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to truss rods for buggy tongue circles, the object being to provide a truss which is so constructed that when placed in position on the circle of the buggy tongue, the buggy tongue will be strengthened so as to prevent the same from splitting, thereby overcoming the disadvantages now existing with buggy tongues provided with circles caused by the constant shaking of the same.
Another object of my invention is to provide a truss rod which is so constructed that it can be easily and quickly attached to any of the well-known makes of buggy tongues now in use whereby the tongue will be reinforced at such points where it ordinarily splits.
A further object of my invention is to provide a truss rod which can be easily and quickly secured in position upon the circle of a buggy tongue.
Vit-h these objects in view, my invention consists in the novel features of construction hereinafter fully described, pointed out in the claims and shown in t-he accompanying drawings, in which:

Referring to the drawing A indicates a tongue which is provided with a curved end A which is secured to a horizontally arranged circle B by a T-shaped reinforcing member C and side braces I), the above description being given so that the use of my improved truss rod can be readily understood.
My improved truss rod comprises a bar E of such a length as to fit the size circle to which it is to be applied, said bar being provided with flattened apertured ends E, E2 and a. central integral leg F which is provided with a flattened apertured foot portion F and it will be seen that the bar extends upwardly from each end at an angle to the point where the foot F is joined thereto so as to form a rigid rod as will be hereinafter fully described.
In applying my improved truss rod to a buggy tongue circle, I secure one of the rods E upon each side of the circle adjacent the end carrying the thill irons which are not shown, by bolts Gr and the rods are then extended forwardly and the ends E2 overlap and are secured through the tongue and members C by a bolt H and the central foot portion F is secured to the circle B by bolts I and it will be seen that by this arrangement the circle is so braced by the truss rods that it will be impossible for the same to spread in any way or to split by the constant jarring of the same when traveling over rough roads.
From the foregoing description, it will be seen that I have provided a truss rod which is so constructed that it is especially adapted to be used in connection with circles of buggy tongues whereby the tongue is so strengthened at the point subject to the greatest strain that the life of the' tongue is greatly increased.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. The combination with a buggy tongue circle, of truss rods for connecting the outer end portions of said circle to said tongue, said rods being provided with apertured ends secured on the underside of said circle and tongue and central supporting members carried by said truss rods secured to the underside of said circle.
2. The combination with a buggy tongue circle, of rods having apertured attened ends secured upon the underside of said circle and tongue by bolts passing vertically through the tongue and circle, said rods being provided with central leg portions having apertured feet through which bolts are adapted to pass for securing said feet to the underside of said circle.
3. As a new article of manufacture a buggy tongue having a circle secured thereto ai one end by a T-shaped reinforcing inernto the underside of said circle to each side ber, converging rods having apertured ends of its center.
