To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMAN Pnorr, citizen of the United States, kosh, in the county of Winnebago and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Outriggers for Boats, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in outriggers for boats and one of the objects of my invention is to provide an outrigger that shall be noiseless.
A further object of my invention is to provide a removable outrigger, and a socket member permanently attachable to the boat.
A further object of my invention is to provide a circle socket that shall be adapted to receive a corresponding rigger-bar with a circle bearing so as to bind on the circle and thereby prevent wear and noise.
A further object of my invention is to provide a rigger-bar with a shoulder, bearing laterally against the lugs of the socket member to avoid lateral motion and wear.

A represents the plate of the socket member attachable to the gunwale of the boat,
B, represent vertical lugs integral with the plate A, each lug being provided with an opening at I and a circular seat C.

he rigger-bar D is provided with semicircle-bearings G, G, upon each end adapt, ed to seat in the parti-circular seats C, C of the lugs B, B, and a shoulder H is provided at each end of the rigger-bar D adapted to impinge against the inner face of each lug when the locking is completed. The bearing" members G-G are formed semi-circular on one side for fitting into the parti-circular seats or sockets G-O, and are fiat on the opposite side so as to fit against lugs The openings I, I are so positioned residing at Oshbinding of the and are of such construction between the points of the openings as to permit the circle ends G, G, to slide between them and become closely seated against the circle seats C, C, so as to bind in the operation of looking the outrigger to the socket member. A binding efiect is produced in the circular seating of the out-rigger which avoids noise and wear.
A turn-button J may be used to retain the out-rigger against any possible release.
In the locking operation the rigger-bar bearings G, are inserted through the openings I, I and permitted to drop and slide to the circle seats C, C. They take their place in a binding position, the shoulders H, H, impinging against the inner faces of the lugs B, B. The turn-button J may then be turned to impinge against the top of the rigger-arm E to retain the binding position.
Having thus I claim is z- 1. An outrigger for boats comprising a plate, a pair of socket members extending at right angles therefrom formed with a socketdefining a substantially semi-circular opening, an arm extending at an angle from said plate and formed with a socket for receiving an oar guiding member, and a transverse bar secured to said arm for en gaging said sockets, and a binding lever arranged to be moved over said transverse bar for locking the same in said sockets.

An outrigger for boats comprising a plate, members extending therefrom formed with semi-circular sockets, and a projecting member extending partially over said sockets, an arm for supporting the oars eX- tendlng outwardly from sald base and formed with journal members having a semi-circular portion and a flat portion, said semi-circular portion fitting into said semicircular socket, and said flat portion fitting against said over-hanging projection, and a described my invention what turn-button for locking said journal mem bore in position.
