iinirrnin erstens renier Leiris etienne., osier; tonie, :crescente will enable any one skilled in the art to which 'it eppertains to ineke and use the same, reference being-hed to the accompanyu nogv drawings, forming rpart of this speci cation. i
In order to prevent the angle cocks of railway eers from being rotated ont of their proper angle and also to prevent their). from being accidentally detached from the train- 'pipe it has been customary heretofore to may "stances to allowthe head of the angle provide anglecock holderswliich engage with the head of the angle cock. The head of the angle cock is iisiially hexagonal in form and is slightly eiilarged so as to :torni a forward shoulder.4 Owing to this the holder engaging the head. of the angle cock may prevent both the rotation and longitudinal movement ot' the angle cock. ln some cases7 however, it is desirable to have the head of the angle cock straight end cylinn driczil and it is.l also desirable in Sonie incock to project through an opening in the end sill in order that the body of the angle. cock be arranged at the standard distance from the face of the coupler. In either case it is impossible to secure the angle cock by means oi' a liolderengaging With its head.
. The object of the present invention is to provide an angle cock holder which will engage with the angle cock forward of its body portion so as'to overcome the objections above referredV to.v
ln the accoinpanyingl.drawings which `illustrate some 'forrnsof angle cock holder made in :.iccordance `with my invention, "Figure 1 is a. side elevation, the end sill being' l2r is e front view o shown in section;y the holder shown in 1; Fig. 3 is a front .10.; view showing' a slightmmoditicntion; Fig. t is a view of the` holder shown in Fig@ looking in the direction indicated by the. arrow, and Fig. 5 is e view similar to l but showing a still l'iiitlier inoditication.
Like marks of referencere'ler to similar parte in theseveral views in the drawings. v1() represents the-end sill of the car and 11- the train-pipe. rllnetraiirpipe .l1 is se'y Acured to the angle cock which. consists off specification ol. Letters .'latent.'

body portion 12 heed "13 and s nozzle 1t. ln the drawings 'theuheed 13 is shown as straightend cylindrical. lin Fig. 1 it is also shown esprojecting through en open ing in the endv sill 10 in order to secure the `proper standard distance between the body 12 of the :ingle cook and the fece ot the coupler.
1511s the-body of the angle cockholder which is mede in the form ofc pocket adapted to receive the lower end ofthe nozzle 111 and also to. embrace the lower 'end ot the body 12 of the cock. The body 15 of the holder is provided with an 'opening 16 tor the passage ot the hosepipe 17 which is secured in the end of the nozzle 14e. The holder 15 is secured to the end Vsill 10 by means of a bracket 18 through which and the Harige o'. the end sill 10 pass bolts 19. lt will be evident that the holder 1 5 by engaging with the lower end of the nozzle 14 and the body 12V lirinly holds the angle cock against rotation and at the seme time effectively prevents it from becoming disengaged from the train-pipe 11.
ln Figs. 3 and e l have shown a modifica,- tion adapted to be applied to angle cocks which are arranged below the vend sill v10. .l n this modification the body ot the holder consists ot' a pocket 2O adapted to embrace.
the lower endo'f the body 12 oit the angle cock. The pocket 20 is secured to the end Asill 1G by bolts 2l. passing through upwardly 22. The pocket `20 is a strap 23 which passes 14 immediately forward extending brackets,
around the nozzle ot the body 12.
ln Fig. l. have shown a. `still hirthei. modification infwliicli a dat plete 24 is se-f cured to the end sill 10 by .means of bolts 25'. This plateisprovided with a'. sine-ll pocket 26 adaptedto receive the extreme lower end" of the body 12 ot the angle cock.
24 is also provided with an upwardly' inclined lip 27 Aengagiieg with the lower end ot the nozzle 14e and providedwith e. snitm able opening to allow the pessegge of the hose pipe 17.
lt will be` evident theft with all the forms The plete littlot rny angle cock holder the single cock may be lirinly secured both against rotation end longgitiidinel` displacement sind, this nitty be;f
done even thoughtlie head oi the angle cock were straight or cylindrical or whether it posses through an openingI in the end sill.
Having lully described vmy invention.J what .iin
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United Sta-bes, 1s:
1. An angle cock holder arranged to eni gage the angle cock forward of its body t prevent the withdrawal of the cock from the train-pipe, said holder being provided wit-h means for securing it to the car. y
2. An angle cook holder having a pocket engaging the lower end of the body of the cock to prevent its rotation, said holder also engaging the cock forward of its body to 'prevent the withdrewalof the cock from the 4. An angle cock holder having a pocket to receive the end of the nozzle of the cock, said pocket being provided with un opening for the passage of the hose pi e, said holder being provided with means or securing it to the car.
5. An angle cock holder havin f a pocket to receive the end of the nozzle o the angle cock, said pocket also receivinV the lower end of the body of the cock, saild pocket being provided with an opening for the passage of the hose pipe, said holder being pro* vided with means for securing it to a car.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and aixed my seal in the presence of the two subscribingr witnesses.
