y My invention is an improve ent in match box holders, and consists of certain novel constructions, and combinations 'of partsV hereinafter described and claimed.
The object of the invention isto provide a device-for holding any' match box, especially those containing safety matches, 1n-
open position and with both striking suraces exposed, and'which-may be connected with a t'ull box and disconnected fromian' empty one with but little trouble, and with a minimum expenditure of time.

The present `embodiment of the invention consists of a base plate, having4 a. body ortion l, provided atl its upper'edve', an at approximately the' center thereo with an ally as at 3. In its lower edge the plateis provided with spaced pairs of slits, 4:, the members of the pairs divergngfrom each other inwardly, as shown' in Fig. l and thei material between the slits is beniJ forwardly to form poinfed'lugs 5, one ateach side orA the plate. -Near each upper corner and in its side edge the plateis provided with a slit 6 inclining inwardly andnpwardly, and the material between-the slit and 'the ed e of the plate is struck up and bent forwar o y and downwardly to pointed lug 7.
The match box, for which the holder is especially designed, consists of a shuck 8, and a sliding tra 9, the matches 10 being rm a hooked and -held in the tray as shown in Figs. 1 and 2,

the complete box is supported by the holder,

The -hook 3 forms a convenient means for ,supporting the holder, and if desiredthe holder maybe shaped to. represent a figure,
