To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Ronno M. Vioiga citizen of the United States. residing at Detroit,

in the county of Vaync and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Credit-Cabinets; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the numerals of reference marked thereon, in which Figure 11 is a perspective view showing the front credit leaf turned down and one side of the case removed. Fig. 2 is a view showing a portion of a number of credit leaves Fig. 3 is an edge view of a series of credit leaves detached and clamped together. Fig. l is a view showing a modified form of two of the credit leaf connecting links. Fig. 5 is a view of two credit leaf connecting links showing their connecting stud detached. Fig. 6 is an end view showing the side of the case removed. 7 is a sectional view of one of the credit leaves. Fig. 8 is an enlarged view showing a portion of one of the credit leaves'end illustrating the credit slip holding clips connected thereto. Fig. 9 is a top view showing portions of the credit leaves and the binding bar brought into position to bind the leaves. The present invention has relation to credit cabinets and it consists in the novel arrangement hereinafter described and particularly pointed out in the claims.

For thepurpose of providing credit slip leaves that will be rigid and at the same time of little weight, said credit slip leaves consist of the bars 5 and 6 which are located at right angles to each other and spaced from each other so as to produce a rectangular structure of sufiicient size to provide proper creditslip holding leaves and also providing a means for connecting the various credit slip holding clips 7 to the credit leaves. To the base 1 are attached the credit slip holding leaf supports 8, said supports being provided with a series of recesses 9, which recesses. are for the purpose hereinafter described. T o the end members 5 of the credit slip holding leaves are securely connected the studs or bearings 10, to which studs or bearings are .pivotally connected the leaf connecting links 11 and said links being pivotally connected together by which arrangement the various credit slip holding leaves are connected one to the other. In use when it is desired to place the leaves in the case the various studs 10 extended from the end members of the leaves are seated in the recesses formed in the supports by which arrangement each leaf is indeaend ently hinged at its bottom or lower one and by inclining the'supports 8 upward tron their front edges toward and to their rear edges the various leave-sure held in stepped relationship with reference'to each other as best illustrated in Fig. 1. By providing the supports 8 with the open recesses t it will be understood that the various credit slip holding leaves together with the credit slips connected thereto by means of the clips '5 can be easily removed from the caseand when removed the leaves can be brought into close contact with each other as illustrated in Fig; 3 and as illustrated iii-Fig. 3 the series of leaves may be and preferably are bound together by means of the tie bars 155, one end of each tie bar being pivotally attached to the back or rear lee and the front ends of the bars provided with the notches the various-credit slip holding leaves are brought into the position just above described the bulk is reduced, thereby providing for placing the various credit slip holding leaves together with the slips carrled thereby in a safe or any other place of deposit.

To the supports 8 are pivotally attached the levers and 16, which levers are each provided with the anti-friction rollers 17.

The levers 15 and 16 are each extended forward and curved in such a manner that as the front or forward leaf is brought into a lowered position it will lower t e front or forward ends of the levers-for t e purpose hereinafter described. To one'bf the side members 2 or its equivalent is attached the short shaft or bar 18, upon which shaft or bar is mounted the gear wheel 19, the ratchet allowing free movement of the arm 21, the

lever 15 is provided with the elongated slot 23. In the side members 2 or their equivalents is journaled the shaft 24 upon which shaft is securely mounted the sprocket wheels 25 and the gear wheel 26 Sand gear wheel 26 being so located that it will mesh "with the gear wheel 19. Directly above the shaft 24 is located the shaft 27, upon which shaft are mounted the sprocket wheels 28.

V The shaft 27 is journaled in the sides 2 or in blocks 29 secured to said side members. Upon the shaft 27 is mounted the cylinder 1 30, which cylinder is provided with any desired number of advertising slips 31, which advertising slips may be connected to the cylinder in any convenient and well known manner. y

F or the purpose of imparting intermittent rotary movement to the cyllnder 30, the drive chains 32 are provided, which drive chains are located around the various sprocket wheels as illustrated in the drawings and the drive chains actuated from time to time by the intermediate connections between said drive chains and the pivoted lever 15. The lever 16 is substantially of the same construction as the lever 15 and is operated in substantially the same'manner but is for the purpose of closing the switch 33, thereby closing the circuit leading from the battery 34 to the light 35. I

In Fig. 4 I have illustrated a modified form of the credit leaf connecting links 40, which links are pivotally connected to the various leaves and are connected together by the flat studs 41 which studs pass through the elongated slots 42. By the modified form of credit leaves can be moved toward each other but at the same time allow free hin e movement, owing to the fact that the 0 difference between the links 40 and the inks 11 isthat the portion of the studs which pass through said links are formed flat instead of round. For the purpose of preventing the links 11 from moving or turning'below a horizontal line one of said links is" provided with the pin 43, which pin engages the shoulder 44. In the drawings I have shown the studs 10 provided with beads butthis is not absolutely necessary owin to the fact that the supports 8 can be so adjusted with reference-to each other that they will prevent any sidewise movement of the various credit slip holding leaves after the leaves have been placed in proper position in the case. For the purpose of automatically elevating the levers 15 and 16 after they havebeen depressed by the downward movement by one of-the credit slip holding leaves, the springs 45 are rovided, said springs being attached to sai levers at one of their ends and their opposite ends securedto the base 1 or its equivalent.

It will be understdod. that by providing the springs 45 said springs will have a tendency to pull or draw the inner ends of the levers 15 and 16 downward and elevate their outward or forward ends and byvcurving' said levers and locating the same as shown they will be in position to hold the credit slip holding leaves in an elevated position by which arrangement a slight pull will be necessary to bring the leaves into a lowered position.

Having fully described my invention, what claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a credit cabinet, the combination of a case, a series of credit slip holding leaves together at their bottom or lower the links of the leaves pivotally cesses, said open recesses adapted to receive the'bearings, substantially as and for the purpose specified.

2. In a credit cabinet, the combination of a case, a series of credit slip holding leaves linked together at their bottom or lower portion, the links of the attached together, bearings-secured to the leaves, supports provided with open recesses, said open recesses adapted to' receive the bearings, and means for limiting the pivotal movement of the links intermediate the leaves, substantially as and for the purpose 8. In a credit cabinet of theclass described, the combination of a casing, a series of credit slip holding leaves provided with leaves pivotallycredit slip holding clips, said credit slip holding leaves linked together at their bottomor lower ends and provided with bearings, supports provided with stepped open recesses, said recesses adapted to receive the bearings of the credit slip holding leaves, and the links pivoted together, substantially as and forthe purpose specified.

4. In a credit cabinet of the class described, the combination of a casing, a series of credit slip holding leaves provided with slip holding clips, said credit slip holding leaves linked together at their bottom or lower ends and provided wit-h bearings, supports provided with stepped open recesses, said recesses adapted to receive the bearings of the credit slip holding leaves and the links'pivoted together and means for limiting the downward movement of the links at their pivotal connections, substantially; as and for the purpose specified.
