' Specification of Letters Patent.

Application filed May 10, 1909. Serial No. 495,159.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ROLLO M. Vick, a citi- .zen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of Wayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Telephone-Brackets, and dcclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, suoli as will enable others skilledvin the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to brackets for holding telephones.

`It has 'for its object an improved hinged bracket carrying at its extremity a table adapted to support a telephone and having the table fitted with vattachments to secure the telephone thereto.

In the drawing F igure 1 is an elevation of the bracket showinvr the telephone. Fig. 2 is a plan View of the table. Fig. 3 1s a detail of the spring catch used in connection with the table.

The bracket consists of a hinge leaf l provided with screw holes through which screws may be driven to secure it toany fixed object. n arm 7 is pivotally connected to said leaf by a hinged joint 17- that is adapted to work in both directions; and an arm 2 pivotally, connected to arm 7 and adapted to fold in either direction supports table 3.

The table is preferably round to correspond with the base of' the ordinary telephone sta'ndard, and is provided with two overhanging fingers 4 and 5, which project above the upper surface of the table and are inclined inward to engage over the base of' the telephone standard. A third catch 6 secured to the spring arm 27 on the under side of the table projects throu h a hole in the table and terminates above t e table with a finger similar in shape to the fingers 4 and 5 an is adapted to co-act with those fingers to hold the telephone securely in'place; the third finger is movable and 1s held by tension spring 8; spring 8 is secured to the table or to bracket 3 which supports the table.

wWhat I claim is 1. A telephone supporting bracket, having in combination a plurality of pivotally connected arms, an apertured tablevsupported by one of said arms, a plurality of overhanging fingers fixed about the peripheral portion of said table, a pivotally supported arm adapted to swing beneath the table in a plane parallel therewith, a portion ofl said arm extending through said aperture and constituting an additional overhanging finger located in opposed relation to said fixed ngers, and a spring adapted to yieldingly hold the saine against the base of a telephone standard interposed between it and the fixed fingers, substantially as described.

2. In combination with a bracket arm, a table supported thereby, inwardly inclined fingers fixed about the peripheral edge thereof, and a pivoted spring arm having an upwardly projecting finger portion, arranged in opposing relation to said fixed fingers and extending through a eut-away portion of the table to yieldingly engage against a telephone base interposed between it and the fixed fingers, substantially as described.
