Letters Patent No. 95,639, dated October 12, 1869.
IMPROVEMENT IN 'GRINDSTONE-FRME.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all who/m it ma/y concer-n:
Be it known that I, BYRON BIsBEE, of North Waterford, in the county of Oxford, and State of Maine, have invented a new and useful Im/proved Grindstone; and I hereby. declare the following to beta full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had -to the accompanying drawings', forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation. y Figure 2, a detail of a portion of the side opposite i. to that shown in tig. 1.

There are four of these, two'for each bearing of the shaft.
By the gears a and d, greater' facility in turning the stone is attained.

When standing vertical, the vat closes the aperture of the nozzle or spout.
The operation is evident:
The valve is opened, the Water thus set running on to the wheel, or stone, and the article to be sharpcned, after the wheel, or stone is wetted, applied.
Thus the stone is easily revolved, and, at the same time, kept well wetted without trouble.
I do not claim the gears or the friction-rolls, 'by themselves considered.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secur by Letters Patent, is-. f i y The described arrangement of the stone B, gear a, gear d, shaft e, friction-rollers f g, and Water-receptacle h, with its valve and spout, as and for the purposes herein described.
