Be it known that I, GEORGE H ll iurnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cool: and State of Illinois, have invented a 116W and useful Cornb-Cleaner, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in comb cleaners and is designed to provide an article of this type and character which Will thoroughly remove all dirt and heir accumulated between the teeth of the comb in an effective and expedient manner.

It contemplates means whereby the cleaning member may he removed when ithas become soiled and Worn and s new one substituted in the place thereof.

With the above and other ends in view the invention consists in the construction, conr hinetion and arrangement of parts all as hereinafter more fully described, snecificelly claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein,

The comb cleaner comprising the suhicct matter of this invention comnrises a spring inetsl frame 1, so construct-cc. that it forms pair of longitudinally extending srrns, said arms normally hesring'froin each other. 'lhe cleaning member 3, cl any suitable insteriel, preferably, however, silk cord, is cerried on and secured to the frame by means or a double row of cord seats 4. These said cord seats 4: are composed 01"- e series of registering orifices, formed in each arm in two parallel tiers 7, the lower tier being connected with the upper tier and the outer edge of the arm oy's passage 6, which PEEP inits the placing of the cleanin member in said cord sect. To further facilitate the securing of the cord 3 therein, each of the teeth formed by this passage 6, is tapered or how eled at its upper extremity forming a partial recess.

in that the spring supplied by the frame retains the cords in taut and permanently rigid condition. The cleaning of a comb by my improved cleaner is caused by the reciprocation of the comb on the cord in such a manner that the some is interposed between the teeth thereof and thus removes all dirt, etc.

'The material used in the manufacture this comb cleaner, the style of handle and frame, etc, and the material used as a cleaning member, is not limited 'oy my in vention, it losing my intention to rnslre such minor chsnges in the construction as are desirable to the economy in the manufacture thereof.
