Be it known that I, Joiiiv R. OCONNELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at fillow7 in the county of Greer and State of UiilaliOma, have invented a new and useful Impr vement in Adjustable Revolving Groeers Cabinets, of which the following is a specification. This invention relates to grocers cabinets especially adapted to be used for dispensing granulated articles, the object being to provide a. cabinet. which is revolubly mounted and has a plurality of receptacles for holding sugar, beans, peas and the like whereby the saine can be readily delivered into a bag arranged upon a pair of scales without handling the saine.

` A further object of my invention is to provide a cabinet which is so constructed that any one of the receptacles can be readily detached so as to refill it when the contents have been dispensed.

A still further object of my invention is to' provide a support for the receptacles which has a plurality of spouts provided with cut-Otis, said spouts being adapted to register with openings formed in the bottoins of the receptacles, said openings being also closed by cut-offs so that when it isdesired to remove one of the receptacles they saine can be readily detached without any danger of spilling any of the contents.

A further object of my invention is to provide an adjustable funnel in connection with the cabinet, said funnel being carried byadjust able arms under the support whereby the contents of any one of the receptacles can be delivered into a bag arranged on the y scales.

A still further object of my invention is to *provide means for adjust-ing the supporting 'shaft' vertically in order that the same can consists of the novel eatures of construction. combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, pointed out in section.

'In carrying out my improved invention I employ a tubular shaft A adapted to pass through an opening B formed in the counter, said shaft resting on a collar C adjustably mounted on a pin D by a set screw C', said pin being provided with a pointed lower end having square sides adapted to tit within a square socket E secured on the floor under the opening ot the counter and it will be seen that by adjusting the collar on the pin the shaft can be adjusted vertically. Fixed on theshatt A is a circular supporting plate G which is provided with radial strips G and is supported by arms Gr2 which are connected to the shaft so as to relieve the plate of the strain as will be hereinafter fully described. The circular plate is provided with a plurality of openings under which are secured spouts H provided with pivoted cut-oils H having handles H2 for operating the same and itwill be seen that when the cut-oti's are in a closed position the spouts are closed so that it will be impossible for anything to pass out of the saine.

Mounted on the plate is a plui'ality'of segmental receptacles I provided with openings revisterinur with the openings of the plate and having cut-otfs J slidably mounted in their bottoms adapted to close the openings, said cut-offs having handles Jl extending outwardly therefrom Vso as to allow the cut-oils to be readilyY operated.

' These receptacles are adapted to be filled with the granulated nialerial to be dispensed and are closed by removable covers l( and in constructing the receptacles I preferably forni the .saine with inclined sides so that when the tops are placed in position they will be held thereon at an inclination so as to give a neatV appearance to the saine and when the receptacles are in position they fit between the strips and arms so as to form a circular body. The arms extend upvardly between the respective receptacles so that when the receptacles are filled the weight. of the saine will be taken oit of the plate so as to prevent the plate from giving.

These arms are mounted parallel with re spect to each otherland are connected together by a coil spring R for normally holding the arms in their adjusted position and the funnel is so arranged with respect to the spouts that when the cut otl`s are opened the contents will drop into the saine so that they will be carried into the bag arranged upon the scales S which are mounted on the counter in such a position `with respect to the cabinet that. it. will not be necessary to handle the materials to be sold -as by revolving the shaft so as to bring the receptacle containing the desired material to be sold and then by adjusting the funnel the contents can be delivered into the bag arranged upon the scales.

From the foregoing description it will be seen that l have provided a cabinet provided with means for deliveringlr the contents out ofthe receptacles into a bag arranged upon a pair of scales without handling the same `in any way thereby savino' a greatdeal of time and trouble and also ieeping the material to be sold perfectly clean as the receptacles are formed tight so that the contents will not losetheir strength especially when the same is used for dispensing eoit'ee and tea or spices of any kind. lt will also be seen that by providing the receptacles 'with cut-oils and the supporting plate with cutoti's all danger of the. contents being wasted is prevented as when the cut-oit in the receptacle is open the cnt-oli 1u the correspending spout is closed so that a certain amount of tea or cotee is allowed to pass into the spout and then by closing the cntoli inthe receptacle and allowing the contents of the spout to pass into the funnel gradually the correct amount-can be delivered into the bag on the scales. lt will also he seen that by having the funnel carried by adjustable arms it can be adjusted vertically to suit ditl'erent sized bags arranged upon the scales. pin arranged in said socket, a collar adjustably mounted on said pin adapted to support said shaft, a. plate carried by said shaft, and a plurality of receptacles mounted on said plate.
