To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, IVIAURICE P. SCHWARTZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements 1n Drugglstsl others, so as to be found only after a con-,

siderable search, unless the salesman has a complete memory of the location of all the articles.

The object of, my said invention is to produce a cabinet which will conveniently contain a much larger number of articles than ordinar shelving, and so arranged that the entire number may be easily brought into view, thus notonly very greatly'economizing space, but rendering the articles much more conveniently accessible and easily found. The arrangement includes a system of labeling and indexing, which enables the recently-employed salesman, having no memory knowledge of the stock, to fin any article desired with facility.

Referring to'the accompanying drawings, which are made a part hereof, and on which similar reference characters indicate similar parts, Figure l is a perspective view of a fragment of a cabinet embodying my present invention; Fig. 2 a. detail sectional view -as seen when looking in the direction indicated by the arrows from the broken line 2 2 in Fig. 3; Fig. 3 a detail horizontal sec tional view as seen-when looking downwardly from the broken line 3 3 in Fig.

As shown in the drawings this cabinet "consists'of a series of suitably supported shelves 21 having grooves 22 and 23 in their upper and lower surfaces extending trans" versely thereof from the rear to near the front sides, and a series "of cabinet boxes or goods containers 31 placed between said shelves and having guiding pins 32 and 33 extending into said grooves in the shelves. As shown in Fig. 1 the several cabinet boxes tire space between the shelves longitudinally thereof, except that the bodies are spaced slightly apart back of the fronts to accommodate guides which I prefer to use. IVhen access is desired to the contents of any one of these boxes, itis first drawn out until its rear end is in front of the normal position of its front end (one of the boxes in the upper row is indicated in this position in Fig. 1), and then swung around sidewise'to the position in which one of the boxes in the lower row is shown, bringing the'open side thereof to the front, and completely exposing its contents. The shelves 21' are sufliciently wider than the length of the cabinet box 31, so as to form a ledge in front of the row of boxes, upon which the individual box when drawn out may rest as shown. The grooves 22 and 23, in whichthe pins 32 and 33 rest and operate, stop a little short of the front edge of the shelf 21, so that the b xes cannot be completely withdrawn from their proper positions.

As shown in Figs. 3 and 5, I have placed between the bodies of the cabinet boxes, or

containers, ust back of the front ends thereof, guide pins 29, and these I preferably surround with small anti-friction rollers 39. These guide pins' prevent the front ends of said boxes orcont-ainers from moving side-' wise into the space left vacantwhen one of ,said boxes is withdrawn, in use, and this greatly facilitates the certain and ready insertion of such box or container to its at-rest position. I

Having thus fully described my said invention, what'l claim as new, and desireeto secure by Letters Patent, is

The combination, in a cabinet, or" series of shelves having grooves in their upper and lower surfaces extending transversely thereof to near their front edges, and con- Jtainers shorter than the width of the shelves mounted thereon and having pins which engage with the grooves, Said pins being arranged to stop the movement of the con,- tainers when pulled outwardly and prevent complete disengagement thereof with the shelves, and said containers being also ada ted to swing on said pins as a pivot a ter eing pulled out to the predetermined distance eeasev and thus brought around so that the contents thereof will be exposed and conveniently accessible.

2: The combination, in a cabinet, of a series of shelves having transverse grooves in their upper and lower faces, containers placed between said shelv'es'and having pins extending upwardly and downwardly there from and engaging with the grooves in the shelves, said containers being thereby held to (position and permitted to be pulled out an swung around to enable access to their contents, and guides arranged between the sides .of the containers whereby they are kept from sidewise displacement when in closed position.
