Be it known that I, HERMAN F. HAUSS- MANN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements v in Taxing Devices, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

My invention relates to improvements in waxing devices; more particularly it has reference to an envelop pad containing wax suitable for ironing purposes.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a plan view of one application of my invention, Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the envelop fastened in its closed position, Fig. 3 is an end view of Fig. l, Fig. l a cross section on the line 4% of Fig. 2, Fig. 5 a plan view of the waxing material, Fig. (5 a. similar view of the card board upon which the wax' is attached, Fig. 7 a cross sectional view of Fig. t5 on the line 7 7, and Fig. 8 is an end view of Fig. 5.

8 is a piece of porous material such as shaker flannel thoroughly saturated with preferably pure wax, paraffin or the like which is allowed to dry and harden.

l0 is a piece of card board or other suitable backing through which the fastener 9 is forced.

ll is an envelop of linen or other suitable material through which the ends of the fastener 9 are projected and after the waxing material has been secured to the backing l0 and introduced therein, the ends of the fastener 9 are passed through the four flaps l of the envelop as illustrated in Fig. 2 and turned back, securely fastening the same. A suitable label such as l2 is then pasted or otherwise fastened over the same so that the fastener 9 is entirely concealed and the pad is ready for shipment and use. After the wax has melted it is an easy matter to tear open the label, lift the flap off the fastener, withdraw the iiannel, and resaturate the same, thereby renewing the life of the pad. The same is of course reintroduced into the envelop and the flap fastened down by the pin in the usual manner.

In using the device the envelop is placed upon the ironing board, smooth side up, and the iron passed over same in the usual manner.

Of course it will be understood that various modifications may be made Without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

In a waxing device, a porous body impregnated with wax, a fastener upon said body, a reinforcing member upon said body, and penetrated by said fastener, and an envelop provided with flaps penetrated by said fastener, said body and member being securely held in said envelop by said fastener.
