To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AUGUSTIN HENDRICKS, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combination Crib and Baby-Carriage; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention relates to a combination crib and baby carriage and its object is to provide the same with means whereby the wheels thereof cannot be brought in contact with furniture or door casings when the device is used; to provide a structure that may be conveniently made mainly of metal tubes, and to provide the same with various new and useful features hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings in which:

Like numbers refer to like parts in all of the figures.

The upper part, or the crib portion of the device is provided with upper rails 1 and lower mile 2 preferably of metal tubes con nected by vertical rods or tubes 3. At each corner is a tubular corner post 4 provided with collars 13 to which are secured by brazing or otherwise, tubular cross rails 10 connected by vertical rods or tubes 11. The corner posts 4 are integrally connected by upwardly extended portions 5 forming handles for the device and are extended downward to form legs 4 which are bent diagonally inward and downward as at 6 to bring the wheels 9 within the vertical planes of the upper or crib portion of the device whereby the wheels are prevented from contacting furniture or door casings near which the device may be moved.

To provide for storage or shipment in knock-down condition the side rails 1 and 2 are detachably secured to the posts 4 by rods 14 extending through these rails and posts, which rods are centrally located in the rails by means of plugs 15 in the ends thereof having axial openings through which the bolts extend.

In the lower end of each leg 4 is inserted a plug 17 projecting downward therefrom and forming a saddle 18 to rest upon the axle 7 on the respective outer ends of which are the wheels 9. These axles are braced by crossed rods 8 which have eyes in their respective ends through which extend cap screws 16 which screws also extend through openings in the axle 7 and are screwed in the saddles 18. Cross bars 12 are provided to support any convenient bottom to the device, these bars being detachably inserted in holes or openings in the lower rails 2.

By the described construction I provide a crib that may be trundled about the same as a cab and the upper part extends over the wheels so that the same cannot be brought in contact with furniture or door casings, and the device is easily taken apart and assembled and can be closely packed in a small space as occasion requires.

What I claim is 1. A combination crib and baby cab, comprising a crib or body portion having legs bent diagonally inward and downward, axles attached to said legs, and wheels mounted on the ends of the axles and located beneath the body portion.

2. A combination crib and baby cab comprising ends having legs integrally connected at the top to form handles, and bent inward and downward at the lower ends, axles attached to the legs, wheels on the axles, sides having upper and lower rails, and means for detachably securing the sides to the ends.

3. A combination crib and baby cab, comprising corner posts extended upward and connected to form a handle and extended downward and inward to form inwardly bent legs, end rails and axles connecting said post-s, wheels on the axles, upper and lower tubular side rails detachably connected to said posts, bolts extending through the posts and side rails, and supporting bars detachably connecting the lower side rails.

4. A combination crib and baby cab, comprising tubular corner posts extended upward and connected to form handles and extended downward and bent inward and thence downward, plugs in the lower ends In testimony whereof I affix my signature 111 presence of two wltnesses.
