l. Application tiled March To all whom fit mai/lconcem.'
Be it known that. I, ARAL G. W'ALIN, a citizen of the United States of A merca, and a-resident'of the city of Seattle, in the'county of King and State of Washington, have invented certa-in new and useful Improvements in Electric Ceiling-Fixtures, of which My invention has for its primary object the provisiony of a simplified and improved device of the above type, which canV be quickly installed.
With this main object in View, my invention resides in the structural --features and arrangement of parts hereinafter described ed c aimsf In the accompanying drawing I have. illustrated by a single sectional view my invention vsecured in position and supporting a lamp and the shade therefor.
In carrying out my mvention l provide portion may be of any preferred design or construction.v Its outerend portion however, is provided' with an internalshoulderl 2, with the opposite faces of which the op- It, I ot' the lamp socket ll, are engaged to secure lsaid lamp socket in position. I
Reference numeral -5 indicates the holder for a shade 6, said holder being provided lwith*` the usual securing screws, as 7, and having an inturned free edge portion (3. The ceiling plate 1, in the formation o't shoulder 2 1s contracted, as shown, then liared outwardly to provide holder Socket 4 is of well kifrmvn construction, clamping members 3, 3 thereof being `formedoili insulating material and the latter l vconsisting of'vfaerlng having threading en- 'l from member 3.
' In operation, socket 4 is first arranged in the ceiling plate, as described, then connected to the wires 7', after which the ceiling plate is'secured tothe wall'or ceiling, as by screws8 or the like; .Lamp 9 and shade 6- are afterward arranged in position, as will be readily understood.

ELECTRIC CEILING-FIXTURE.
My improved construction which complies with the rules of the tire underwriters, obviates the requirement of insulating joints, between the lamp socket and electric wires and further, insulating rings between thel tixture andthe wall, 110W used in electric wall fixtures. Further in the form illustrated a device extremely simple and inex- Patented Oct. 19, 1909.
pensive to manufacture, yct neat in appear ance and capable of being quickly installed, is provided.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desireto secure by Letters latent of the United States of America. is
1. An electric fixture comprising a hollow wall plate. contracted intermediate its ends to provide an internal shoulder, a lamp socket' arranged in said wall plate and bearing against one side face of the shoulder thereof, and a removable clamping member threaded on said lamp socket and engagin the other side face of the shoulder of sai( wall platefor clamping said lamp socketto ysaid,` shoulder.
' 2. ..\n electric fixture comprising a' hollow wall plate provided with an internal shoulder, and alamp socket removably arranged in said lwall plate and provided with clamping members between which the shoulder of said wall plate is engaged, one of said clamping members being'adjustable on said lamp socket 'for movement toward and t'rom the other.
3. An electric fixture comprising a hollow' socket for clamping the same. to t-he shoulder fof said Wall plate.
