Description

A. F. GALLAHAN.
BOTTLE STRUCTURE.
A'PPLIOATION FILED JAN. 27, 19oa.-
Patented 0ct.19,1909.
r m. I w W AMERIGUS F. CALLAHAN, 0F WINNET KA, ILLINOIS.
\ BOTTLE s'rnuo'ruitn,
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed January 27, 1908. Serial No. 412,740.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AtrERIcUs F. GALLA- iiAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at- Winnetka, in the county ofCook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new\and useful Improvement in Bottle Structures, of which the following is a full, clear, concise, and exact descriptmn, reference being had to the accompanying drawin s, forming a part of this specification.-
' y invention relatesto bottle structures and comprises two separate bottles, one adapted to be inserted within and, withrawn from the other through the opening in the latter, and a plugstopper sufficiently large at its top to lug the opening in the outer bottle and sufificiently small at its bottom to plug the opening in the inner bottle, said plug stopper being adapted to carry with it.the inner bottle when withdrawn from the opening in the outer bottle, the smaller end of the plug stopper beingremovable from the opening in the inner bottle after the largerend ofythe plug stopper has been removed from the opening in the outer bottle.
, I willexplain my by reference to the 'accompan 1n whic Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of a bot-- ments are preferably so related that one is inclosed ment 6 having 'neck or outlet portions 0 d which are adapted to receive a stopper 6 neck invention more fully ying drawing,' .showin 'thepreferred embodiment thereof,
when the by another, the outer bottle coma partment a and the inner bottle compart in in the inner bottle, being adapted to carry portion 0 of the outer compartment a,
the lower and smaller portionof the cork being adapted to fit the discharge opening of the inner bottle compartment 6.
The inner bottle compartment 6 is first corked or sealed by the stopper c, as indicated in Fig. 2, wherea-fter it is passed into the interior of the bottle compartment (1 to an extent that will permit the larger portion of the cork or stopper to seal the outer bottle opening, it belng understood, of course, that in order that the bottle structure may be of service, the inner compartment is first filled with the material it is to contain and the outer compartment is partially filled with the material it is to contain, the stopper taking part in the support of the inner compartment as well as sealing both compartments.
It is obvious that the tion is capable of holding liquids or solids and that in either case the contents of the bottle compartments act in cooperation with the common stopper to support the inner bottle compartment in place, whereby the Patented Oct. 19, 1909.
bottle of my invenwalls of the inner bottle compartment'may be made quite thin, if desired.
The bottle-structure of my invention is desi ed for the purpose of normally maintainlng a plurality of substances in collocation without their intermixture and whereby substances are to be intermixed such intermixture may be readily effected by the withdrawal of the common stopper from compartment and take with it the inner bottle compartment and, thereafter the with- .the outer bottle compartment to open that drawal of the stopper from the inner bottle compartment, whereupon the two normally separated substances contained in the bottle compartments may be intermixed.
Havingthus described my invention, I
claim as newand desire to secure by Letters Patent Aibottle structure comprising two. separable bottles, one adapted to be inserted within and withdrawn from the other through the opening stoppersufliclently large at its top to plug the opening in the outer bottleand sulficiently small at its bottom to lug theopensaid plug stopper with it the inner the latter, and a plug bottle when withdrawn from the 0 ening in my name this- 25th day of January, A. 'D;, the outerbo'ttle, the smaller end 0 the plug 1908.
stopper being removable from the opening in the inner bottle after-the larger end of AMERIGUS OALLAHAN' -5 the plug stopper has been removed from the Witnesses :1
opening in the outer bottle. GrL. CRAGG,
In witness whereoflI hereunto subscribe L. G. STROH.
