BUST-REDUCING ATTACHMENT.
Application filed May 28, 1908, Serial No. 435,373. Renewed February 3, 1909.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JENNIE M. BODEN- smn, a citizen of the Kingdom of Sweden, residing at New York, in the borough of Manhattan, county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Im- Bust-Reducing Attachments for Corsets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved bust-reducing attachment for corsets, which is to be used by women, and especially stout women, in connection with the upper part of the corset for supporting and simultaneously reducing the bust in a comfortable manner; and for this purpose the invention consists of a bust-reducing attachment for corsets which is stitched or otherwise attached to the upper edge of any corset, laced in front and provided with elastic shoulderstraps, the attachment being made of elastic webbing or other elastic material so as to fit tightly to the bust and yield to every movement of the body.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective front-view of my improved bust-reducing attachment for corsets, and Fig. 2 is a rear-elevation of the same. I

Referring to the drawings, 0 represents a corset of any approved construction. To the upper edge of the corset c is stitched or otherwise fastened the bust-reducing attachment b. The attachment 1; is made of elastic webbing or other elastic fabric and closed at the front by means of lacingstrings I). The attachment 1) is provided with shoulder-straps cl which extend from Specification of Letters Patent.

I the front to the rear of the bust-reducing attachment, and which are made of the same fabric as the main-portion of the attachment 2) and integral therewith or made of sepa rate pieces and attached to the upper front and rear edges of the same. The elastic attachment forms thereby an extension of the corset which, especially with the present styles of corset, is necessary for stout women so as to support the bust and impart a rounder and better form to the same.
As the webbing of which the attachment is made, gives sufliciently to the movements of the body, the attachment imparts a comfortable fit, while snugly supporting the bust and reducing it in an efiective manner at the same time.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. A bust-reducing attachment for corsets, consisting of a bust-covering of elastic fabric laced in front and attached at its lower edge to the upper edge of the corset and having elastic shoulder-straps of the same material.
2. A bust-reducing attachment for corsets, consisting of a bust-covering made of elastic webbing attached at its lower edge to the upper edge of the corset and provided with lacing-strings at the front and shoulderstraps of the same material extending from the front to the rear of the covering.
