To all whom it may concern:
.Be it known that I, (iii/5.x LOSONCZiQH citizen of the, United States of America; residing at Lakewood, inthe county of Cuya hoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Coasters, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a coaster, and the object of this invention is to provide a strong and durable coaster that will permit of a person standing up while coasting down a hill 'or inclination.
Another object of this invention is to provide acoasting frame adapted to be person using the right or left steered by av foot.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a shoe attachment which will protect a shoe from wear and tearincurred by using the foot for steering and guiding my coaster.
W=h the above and other objects in view which will more readily appear as the inventiiw better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be presently described and then claimed.
In the drawings is shown in perspective a coaster in accordance with this invention.
The reference numeral 1 designates two parallel runners having the forward ends thereof curved upwardly, as at 2, and connected by a cross bar 3.
i designates parallel uprights carried by the runners l .in proximity to thecurved ends thereof, said uprights having the upper ends thereof connected by a cross bar 5,
while tlie lower ends thereof are connected by transverse braces 6 and 7, and these braces are further supported by brackets 8.
9 designates brackets connecting the uprights l with the runners 1, at the lower for ward sides of saiduprights.
10 designates supports extending-rearwardly from the uprights 4,. parallel with the runners 1, and connect to said runners by blocks 11.
12 designates an angularly disposed handle bar connecting with the cross bars 3 and 5, the upper end of said handle bar having a curved. handle 13, or against which a bar 5 is'grig iped. a.
A person is adapted to stand upon the supports 10 and grip the handle 13 'of the bar 5,'and with either foot steerand guide the coaster when moving.
The coaster is made of strong and durable wood, or metal can be used, and while in the drawings there is illustrated the preferred embodiments of the invention, 1 would have itunderstood' that the details of construction canbe varied or changed as to the shape, proportion and manner of assemblage without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having now described my invention, What I claim as new, is
A coaster comprising .a pair of runners having the forward ends thereof upturned, a cross bar connecting the forward ends of said runners together, an upright arranged upon each of said runners, a cross-bar connecting the upper ends .of said uprights, said last mentioned cross-bar arranged above the plane of the first mentioned cross-bar, an angularly disposed handle bar connected to the first mentioned cross-bar and secured to the top of the" second mentioned cross bar, said handle projecting rearwardly of the second mentioned 'cross bar, acurved handle secured to the rear end of the handle bar, braces connecting said uprights to said which can be gripped, body can rest while the runners, braces connecting the uprights together, and rearwardly extending'suppo-rts spaced from and mounted upon said runners,
said rearwardly extending supports arranged in parallelism with respect tosaid runners, said rearwardly extending supports abut-ting againstsaid uprights.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
