Be it known that I, OsoARH. Rawrron, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new a specification.

and useful Puzzle, of which the following is My invention relates to improvements in puzzles.

"Referring to the drawings-:Figure 1 is a plan view of a plurality of fiat pieces of irregular contour, which are titted together iornung a continuous surface ofv rectangular contour, having thoreoh a picture or design.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same pieces fitted together in separated groups, each group having the contour of the letters of the alphabet, said lettersarnmged to spell a W01(l.-

Similar numerals refer to similar parts in the several views.

These fiat pieces of irregular cont our are so shaped relatively that they will tit neatly together to form a single rectangular flat body.

' -One surface of. this fiat body may be provided with any suitable picture or design. These same pieces are adapted also to be formed lnto separated groups having the contours of any desired letters of the alphabet; said letters adapted preferal'ily-to be arranged to spell a wprd. It will thus be seen that the puzzle comprises a plurality of pieces having the alternative capacity of being formed in a single surface of rectangular contour, or to be formed into separated groups having the V contours of the letters of the alphabet.
