A ject of the Emperor of AustriafHungary, re-
siding at Granite City, in the lcounty of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Closures, of which' the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being'had to the accompanying drawings,

l My invention has relation` to improvelments In bottle closures, and it conslsts in y .the novel construction of closures more fully,v f' -set forth in the speciication and pointed out l5 in the claims;

` The object of my invention is to vconstruct a bottle closure which willV automatically close'- the mouth of the bottle when the bottle is stood upright, and release the liquid when the bottle is inverted, the character of the closure being .such as to make the bottle practicallyfn0n-refillable when once emptied.
A further obj ect is to accomplish these results wit a minimum number of parts.

It Will be'observed that the rubber diaphragm 6 is extremely pliable and sensitive, responding to the slightest pressure of liquid from within the bottle; and this sensitiveness causes it to instantly resume its' positionx at the base of the' being spaced from the Weight by connecting against the disk by any pressure from the oposite direction. So that should an attempt e made' to lforce liquid into the bottle when once emptied, such pressure would force the diaphragm 6 against the s ider 4 and cut ofi' any passage or flow of the iquid into thebottle.
