SHOE-CLEANER;
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FERDINAND W. ZENKE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meriden, in the county of New Haven, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shoe-Cleaners; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to shoe and boot cleaning devices and has for one of its objects to simplify and improve the construction and increase the efliciency and utility of devices of this character.
Another object of the invention is to provide a simply constructed device of this character w 'ch may be readily cleaned and worn or impaired parts renewed without discarding the other parts.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists in a base portion, a receptacle bearing upon the base and with an encompassing seat in the upper rim, a frame detachably supported upon said seat and comprising spaced side members having brushes with the bristles extending inwardly therefrom and spaced transverse members having brushes with the bristles extending upwardly therefrom, and rollers mounted for rotation u on the receptacle and extending between t e transverse members and their brushes.
The invention further consists in certain novel features of construction as hereafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claims, and in the drawings illustrating the preferred embodiment of the invention, Figure 1 is a plan view of the improved device. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section on the line 22 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a transverse section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
The improved device comprises a base or platform 10 which may be of any size or of any required material. Bearing upon the base 10 is a receptacle 11 hingedly connected to the base at 12 and with an encompassing seat 13 in the upper edge; Bearing upon the seat 13 is a frame comprisin spaced side members 14-15 and space transverse Specification of Letters Patent.

The parts being easily separable, broken or impaired ortions may be readily renewed without discarding the remaining portions of the device.
The parts may be constructed from any require material, of or any required size.
What is claimed, is
1. A device of the class described comprising a receptacle having an encompassing seat in its upper rim, two side brushes engaging in the seats at the sides of the receptacle with their bristles directed inwardly, a plurality of transverse brushes spaced apart and connecting said side brushes with their bristles directed upwardly, and rollers mounted for rotation upon said receptacle and extending between said transverse brushes.
