COMBINATION CONDIMENT AND TO-OTHPICK HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April 13, 1909.
Application filed July 7, 1908. Serial No. 442,277.
To alllwhom it may concern Be it known that We, GUSTAVE A. BAEDER and GEORGE LUBE, citizens of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Condiment ing is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a combined condiment and tooth pick holder, and the rimary object'of our invention is to provi e a novel receptacle for holding pepper and salt or two condiments, whereby either can be used as desired.
A further object of our invention is to rovide a tooth pick holder having a nove receptacle for retaining tooth picks in a vertical position.
'A still further object of our invention is to' provide a simple, durable and inexpensive article that will be highly efiicient for the purposes for which it is intended.
With'the above and other objects in view whlch will more readily appear as the invention 1s better understood, the same consistsin -the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be presently described and then specifically pointed out in the appended clalms. I
Figure 1 is an elevation of our combined condiment and tooth pick holder, Fi 2 a vertical sectional View of the same, an Fig. 3 is a plan partly broken away and partlyin horizontal section.
In the accompanying drawings, 1 designates a receptacle oblong-in cross section, and having a central transverse partition 2 dividing the receptacle into- compartments 3 and 4. The receptacle at its upper edge is formed with angul'arly disposed necks5 communicatlng with the compartments 3 and 4, these necks being exteriorly screw threaded, as at 6, for metallic perforated caps 7 which are detachably mounted upon the necks 5,
wherebthe compartments 3 and 4 can be easily ed with condiments. Y
Formed integral with the top of the receptacle 1 1s-a cylindrical holder 8 havingoppm sltely disposed openings 9 formed therein.
Loosely mounted in the openings 9-are pins 10 having their inner ends provided with links 11 andtheir outer ends with detachable heads 12. The links 11 support an elastic band 13 employed for retaining the tooth picks 1 1 in an assembled and vertical position within the holder 8. As the tooth picks 14 are used, the elastic band 13 contracts and takes up the space causedby the removal of one or more tooth picks.
By detaching the heads 12, the pins 10 and the links 11 can be easily removed from the holder, and a new elastic band placed in position.
We preferably make the receptacle of vitreous material, such as glass, but reserve the right to use metal or a composition:
While in the drawings forming a art of this application there is illustrated t e preferred embodiments of our invention, We would have it understood that the elements therein can be varied or changed, without de arting-from. the s irit of the invention.
avingno'w descn ed our invention what we claim as new, is
1. A combined condimentjand tooth pick holder comprising areceptacle having a transverse partition formed therein dividing said receptacle into two compartments, exteriorly threaded necks carried by said receptacle and communicating with said compartments, perforated caps screwed upon said necks, a cy; lindrical holder supported centrally upon said receptacle, diametrically op osed pins loosely mounted in said holder, lin carried by the confronting ends of said ins, and an elastic described.
2. Incombination with a condiment receptacle, a tooth pick holder mounted on Walls of said hol er, and an elastic band carried by the pins for holding the tooth picks 118. bunched and vertical position in the o der.
