Description

ANTHONY G. DAVIS, OF WATERTOWN, CONNECTICUT.
Loom Parent No. 91,722, dated June 22, 1869.
IMPROVED MOUSE-TRAP# The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it, may concern.-
Beit known that'I, ANTHONY G. DAVIS, of Watertown, in the county of Litchiield, and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and'useful Improvement in litouse-lraps; and I do hereby declarethat the following is a fulland exact description of the same, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
This invention is an improvement on the trap of A. G. Davis, patented March 30, 1869; and consists in certain changes in the construction of the saine, which will be more fully described hereinafter.
In the drawings- Figure l is a plan view of my invention, inverted;
Figure 2 is a side elevation ofthe same; and
' Figure 3, a section through line x z, lig. 2.' l To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now proceed to describe fully its construction and operation.
In the patent above mentioned, a circular trap was employed, having a wooden top, with a .sheet-metal rim, divided by strips of sheet-metal, radiating from the centre into cells, or compartments. Said strips were attached to the trap by projections, which were driven into wooden top.
My improvementconsists in the employment of a vertical post, A, which passes through the centre of the top B, and extends below the same nearly to the bottom.
The post a is provided with a sniicient number of vertical grooves, into which are fitted the inner ends f the wooden stripsl C, which form the partitions.
The outer ends ofthe said strips are secured to the metal rim, by means of flanges, o o, which are struck out, by any suitable method, from the sides of the metal rim, two being formed for each partition, and bent inward, one on each side, thus securely clamping the same.
By this construction, a strong and simplefastening is made. Having thns fully described my invention, What I claim as new, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is- Y In a monse-trap, of essentially the described construction, the partitions C, secured by the grooved centre-post A and fianges o, substantially as described. .'.Ihisspecication signed and witnessed, this 16th day of April, 1869. ANTHONY G. DAVIS. Witnesses:
GEORGE S. A'rwoon, WM. MGGOWAN.
