T all whom it may concern:
I Be it known that I, JOHN EDWARD DOOLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fond du Lac, in the county of Fond du Lac and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Mold or Centering Device, of which the lollowing 1s a specification.
Th s invention relates to molds or centering devices of that general class especinlly culverts of diilerent sizes and shapes.
A. further object of the invention is to provide a centering device including an expansible shell having a threaded actuating 'l'OEl disposed within the Sill 11L and oper etively connected with the shell through the medium ot a plurality of radiating arms or links so that by adjusting the rod the arms may be actuated to contract the shell thereby to permit its removal from the culvert.
A further object is to form one terminal of the expunsible shell with a. sleeve or collar adapted to engage the end of an adjacent shell section whereby several. of said sections inuy united.
further object is to provide improved menus for locking the over-lapped ends of the yie. leblc shell in adjusted position.
A still further object of the invention is generally to improve this class of devices as to increase their utility, din'zibility and efiiciency.

The improved mold forming the Sub ect mutter of the present invention includes a cyliiulricul body portion 5 preferably in the form of :1 longitudinally split shell the adjacent ends of which are overlapped nt 6 so us to ullow for expansion and contraction of the shell when constructing sewers or culvcrts of dillercnt cross sectional diameters.
The interior walls of the shell are reinforced and strengthened by the provision of :1 plurality. of spaced longitiulinnlly disposed burs preferably in the form of angle irons, as shown, and each having one teruiiunl thcreo'fspuced from the adjacent end of the shell to produce a smooth interior surface 9 extending around the entire circuiulcrcncc of the shell.
