Letters Potent No. 90,780, dated June 1, 1869.
IMPROVED BEDSTEADFASTEINING= The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part f the same.
To all whom "it may concern:
My improvement relates to that class of hedstead-y fastenings which are made fast to the bed-post by means of wooden pins instead oil screws, and the points'on which l have made my improvement ou former fastenings will appear from the claims hereinafter to be set forth.
In `iig .1, A represents my improved bedstead-fnstening, constructed in the following manner, with two parallel perpendicular sides b b, containing the inclined planes c c c c, terminating at one end, d, with a halfcircle round, and at the other end, e, with a half-circle hollow, lengthening out at the bottom in the form of a dovetail, held to the bed-post in a corresponding slot or mortise, by a wooden key or pin, as represented by B, in figs. 2 and 3.
C, in fig. 4, represents the hook, which is attached to the bed-rail in the usual manner.

The form of the hook C, and its manner of operation, in connection with the inclined plaines, are nothing new, and on which I make no claim.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
rlhe socket for bedstead-fastening, constructed with the parallel perpendicular sides b b, containing the iu- .clined planes c c c c, in combination with the roundbevelled end d, and the hollow-bevelled key-seat, respectively, constructed and arranged substantially as set forth.
