SAMUEL VEIT SWOBODA, OF CHEMNITZ, GERMANY.
STRETCHING-FRAME FOR EMBROIDERING SEWING-MACHINES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 1, 1908.
Application filed July 8, 1907. Serial No. 382,755.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL VEIT SWO- BODA, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at Chemnitz, in the Kingdom of "Saxony, in the Empire of Germany, have adoption of a stretching block or frame to receive the hose or the like and moving same angularly and in an endwise direction under the needle of the machine in such a manner as to enable the embroidery to be produced.
An embodiment of my invention is illuschine of ordinary construction, which is fitted with the stretching frame. The latter consists of rings 1, 2, and 3 connected together by a longitudinal bar 4;.
The sock 5 or the like is stretched over the frame and preferably held in position 'machine as indicated.
by means of split spring bands 6 and the whole is then placed upon the arm 9 of the When the part of the sock Where the embroidery is to be made has been placed in position under the machine-needle it will only be necessary to lower the presser-foot and work the machine. Tf it be necessary to carry the embroidery beyond the middle ring 2, either the latter may be moved along the bar 4, or the sock may be unfastened at the ring 3 and pushed back to and secured on the ring 2. Thus, embroidery stitches can be made almost over the entire surface of finished hose. It will be understood that the shuttle box is carried in the head of the arm 9 and is thereby lodged within the tubular hose. Further, in machines having a plurality of embroidery needles, each such needle will be provided with a similar stretching frame.
What I claim is:
In combination with the stitching mechanism of an embroidering machine, of a removable stretching frame for finished hose, composed of three successive metal annuli, a longitudinal bar extending from an end with the extreme annuli, means for rigidly fixing the three annuli to the longitudinal bar, and a split ring surrounding each annulus as set forth.
SAMUEL VEIT SVVOBODA.
