MOSES GREEK, O1 ATLANTA, GEORGIA.
JEWELERS BINGrCLAMP.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Mosns GREEK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Atlanta, in the county of Fulton, State of Georgia, have invented certain new and useful 1m proveincnts in Jewelers Ring Clamps, of which the following is a specification.
This invention. relates to jewelers clamps.
ting clamps, as heretofore constructed, while aiiording suflicient clamping action, grip the ring in such a manner that in many instances the ring is injured.
An object of my invention is clamp that will securely hold the ring an d at the same time will not in any manner injure the same.
Other and further objects will a pear in the following descri tion and will he more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawings, Figure l is a plan view of my invention showing a ring clamped thereby. Fig. 2 is an inside View of one arm of the clamp. Fig. 3 is atransverse section on line 3-3, Fig. 1.
Referring more particularly to the draw ings, 1 and. 2 indicate a pair of spring arms connected. together at one of their ends and having at their other ends a pair of curved jaws 3 which are arranged in the plane of the spring arms. The inner faces of the jaws 3 ring are longitudinally grooved at 4 so as to re ceiveopposite sides of the ring and to prevent the ring wobbhng 1n the aws. The curved aws are less than a semicircle so that when to provide Specification of Letters Patent.

fitted to a ring, they will be spaced apart at either end so as not to interfere with the settings of rings.
The jaws and the arms 1 and 2 are formed of a single strip of metal. The tendency of the arms is to hold the jaws separated. To force thein toward each. other, I provide a loop 5 which surrounds both arms and is less in length than the distance between the arms at their rear ends so that when the loopis moved to the rear, the jaws will. be moved toward each other.
To prevent the arms movinglaterally to each other, one of the arms carries parallel guides 6 between which the\other arm moves.
Having thus described my invention. what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A ring clamp comprising a pair of arms, curved jaws carried'hy the ends of said arms and axially grooved, means to force the jaws together, and guides carried by one of said arms.
2. A ring clamp comprising a pair of spring arms having a normal tendency to separate, curved jaws carried by the ends of the arms and longitudinally grooved, a loop to force the jaws together, carried by one of said arms.
The foregoing specification signed at At lanta Ga. this 5th day of January, 1907.
MOSES GREEK.
