To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, EDGAR A LAN CUs'rnR,
i a citizen bf the UnitedStates, residing at the 'ofPhiladelp'hi'a, in the county of Philade phia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Means for Automatically Controlling the 'Opening and Closing of Two-Part Casting- I automatically controlling 'ter of Letters Patent'granted to me under (1 ate Molds, of which the following is a specificationl particularly for employment in a system of casting metal pipe orming the subject-matof November 12th, 1907, and numbered re- Q spectively,-870,817 and 870,870; and in such 'connectionjt relates to the mannerof automatical-lyclosing the respective molds mounted at suitable distances a art upon a turntable -for introducing mo ten metal 'thereinto from a cupola furnace in the formation of the pipe or other cast structures and thereafter of automatically o ening the twopart casting mold sufficient y to permitof ready withdrawal of the cast structures therefrom.
The nature and scope of my present invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a to or plan view of a turntable, with one e ement of the automatic mold opening and closing means located adjacent to the table and with the other element of said means shown directly connected with .the movable cope of the mold having a long an lar arm for spanning the drag of the mo (1 and'havin a terminal rojection for engaging the inc ined groove oi said opening and closing means.
