IMPROVED UTERINE-SUPPORTER.

To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, E. J. FnAsER, M. D., of Erie, in the county of' Erie, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and im provedUterine Snppolter; andIdo hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had-to the accompanying drawings, fonning part of this specification. r
This invention relates to a new and improved device for supporting ihe uterus of the human female and The invention consists in forming and applying abell-shapeil metallic ring, with supporting-bows at tached thereto, which ring is inserted and placed so that the base of the uterus is supported by and rests within the ring, as will be hereinafter more fully-described.

As seen in iig. 2, the ring is expanded on its upper side, or edge, so that itl forms an oval at the top to correspond with the shape of the uterus, while the lowerportion or end of the ring is ro'und.

The firm manner in which the uterus is seated in This supporter is vreadily'inserted or withdrawn by the patient herself, and it will be found an effectual remedy for that very prevalent, but painful female afiiiction, known as' falling of the-womb. Having thus described my invention, Y I claim as new, and desire to secure by Lett Patent- 1. The beu-shaped and over ring e, with the bows f, either double or single, constructed and operating substantially 'as vherein shown anddescribed, for the purposes speciiied.
2. Supporting the uterus by an expanded ring, made to fit the base of the uterus, and allowing the m'outh to be enclosed thereby, substantially as described.
