IMPROVEMENT IN NECK-TIE SUPPORTERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the Ilma.
To all whom it may concern:
- loop over the button, the neck-tie being attached.
Figure 2 is an outside view of the same, showing it in position to support.tl1e neck-tie, the neck-tie being removed;
Figure 3 is a detail perspective view of the same, the neck-tie being removed. l
Similar lettersof reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention has for its object to furnish animproved neck-tie supporter, simple in construction and convenient in use, holding the neck-tie securely in position without interfering with the set of either collar or neck-tie; and
It consists in the neck-tie supporter, constructed and arranged as hereinafter more fully described.
A is the frame or body of the supporter, which is formed of fine elastic exible wire.
The wire of the frame A is continuous upon the upper side and ends of the supporter, but is interrupted at the middle of the lower side in order to avoid all obstruction to the loop when fastening the formed eyes, by means of which the said loop B is hinged to the frame A, as shown in the drawings.
The loop B is made With a bend, shoulder, or offset near its lower or hinged end, as shown in fig. 3, so as when the supporter is turned up into its place, to
leave a space to prevent the supporter from being drawn, by the said loop, so closely against the neckband of the collar as to interfere wit-h the graceful set of either collar or neck-tie.
The neck-tie should be sewed to the middle part of both the lower and upper sides of the frame A, as shown in Iig. 1, so as to leave the ends of said frame free, to be passed between the folds of the collal', as shown in iig. 2. v
In securingt-he neck-tie in place, it is turned down into the position shown in fig. 1, when the loop B may be conveniently passed over the button.
The neck-tie is then turned up, and the ends of the frame A are passed between the folds of the collar, as shown in fig. 2, and the neck-tie is securely fastened in place.-
Having thus described my invention,
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by" Letters Patent, is
The angular loop B, hinged to tbc ends ofthe elastic frame A, whose centre and arms supporting the loop are secured to thc tie in such a manner thatthe ends are left free to be inserted between the folds of the collar, whereby the elasticity of said frame serves to hold the loop B upon the button of the collar, as herein shown and described. v
The above specification of my invention signed by me, this'29th day of July, 1868.
Witnesses: SIMON BRUHL.
