f No.'8 93,643.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 21, 1908.
Application filed July 16, 1906. Serial No. 326,492,.
To all whom it may concern:
Be'it known that I, ALMA Mi'rrzELL, ge-
Em eror, residing at Breslau, in the Empire of ermany, have "invented an Improved Holder for Sewing Implements and Materials or the Like, of Which the following is a I specification.
The invention relates to an improved holder for sewing implements and materials or the like .such as spools of cotton: thread, thimbles, scissors, pins, buttons, ho'oks, eyes, darning wool, metal crochet hooks, knitting needles, pins and the like, in short for sundry objects which hitherto. have been placed in boxes, drawers and the like. The holder consists essentially of a base" plate on which are fixed besides a pincushion severalvertical ins or rods as well asvarious tubes, funne s and receptacles of variouswidths and heights. v The annexed drawing'illustratesthe inven tion. in whichthimbled or the like may be'placed. The
Figure 1 is aplan view of the holder. Fig. 2 a section on line A-A of Fig. 1.
B indicates t e base late. a is the pincushion, v the vertical pins or rods on which spools of cotton 0 or thelikev can be placed or balls of woolen orthe like thread can be arranged and on which the tubes, funnels or receptacles e f serve according to their height and width for receiv ing diiferent implements.
For instance, the
tube f is suitab e for darning needles to. be
' inserted therein, the receptacles g for buttons,
hooks, eyes and the like and the tube 6 for set forth.
longer and higher implements such as knit-. ting needles, crochet hooks and the like. The tube e is arranged telesco ically so that it can be adjusted with regar to its height lengths as required. The pins b are similarly constructed, that is to say, are provided with sleeves h by means of which their height can be adjusted.
The improved holder has in comparison with closed receptacles the advantage that the implements or materials arranged thereon lie freely to hand and are in place and ready for immediate use.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is I 1 A device of the character described com rising a base plate, vertical pins mounted t ereon, and a plurality of vertically ad justable a'ndvariously sized receptacles also mounted on said base plate substantially as 2. A device of the character described comprising a base plate, a p'incushion thereon, vertical pins mounted on said base plate and adjustable as to height and a plurahty of variously sized telescopically adjustable reto suitably receive implements of different ceptacles also mounted on said base plate.
substantially as setforth.
In witness whereof I have signed this specification in the presence-of two' witnesses.
